For me its:

1. Presto - the entire album is basically good & strong.

2. S & A - very strong through Hope. Faithless is ok. Then their are some clunkers but it ends with the good We Hold On.

3. Counterparts - starts weak, gets ok with Nobodys Hero. Then it really takes off. The rest of the album, other than Double Agent & Leave that Thing Alone, is very strong. Its ends with the tremendous Everyday Glory.

4. T4E - It has the horrible Virtuality & Dog Years but the rest of the album is decent.

5. Feedback - its not on the list to chose from but to bad. This is where I am ranking it - tonight. Rush covers some very good songs. Nuff said.

6. CA - the production stinks. The album starts poorly & although their are a number of decent song on the 2nd half of the album it not enough to fix the damage from the start of the album.

7, RTB - It has the great Dreamline & Bravado but not much else.

8. VT - the remix. Its better than the original but that the best I can say about it.

9. VT - the original

Depending on my mood #'s 2 & 3 could switch places. Also #'s 5, 6 & 7 could switch places.

"Good News First" is a very underrated and emotional song. I never quite understood why it wasn't more popular among Rush fans. The line, "time if nothing else will do its worst.." made me love the song. Think about it: All the people we love, that we hope to hold on to...there are a thousand variables that could screw those up. But if nothing else, time (death, loss of health..) is working on it, and will do its worst. One of my favorite lines by Neil.

Presto- Weak sound, good to very great songs. 8/10

Roll The Bones- a couple of misses, and several of their all time greatest songs. 8.5/10

Counterparts- very underrated. Some strange moments, but in a very pleasing way. Contains my least favourite Rush song, but also two of my top ten favourites (actually between this and RTB you have about five of them!). 8/10

Test For Echo- weird and often downright awful. I LOVE THIS ALBUM! 7/10

Vapor Trails- masterpiece. 9.5/10

Snakes and Arrows- great production, interesting songs, but too samey. 6/10

Clockwork Angels- A strangely disappointing affair. Some great songs, many very meh moments. No bad songs. 6/10

Clockwork Angels is their best album since Grace Under Pressure. It's really a remarkable accomplishment when you think about how old they were when they recorded it. I don't think there has been a finer recording made by musicians over the age of 60...ever. :haz:

Purpendicular.

I would flip your ratings for VT and Snakes but otherwise spot on.

Clockwork Angels - Caravan, CA, The Anarchist, Headlong Flight, The Garden.....all new classics.

Counterparts - Animate, CTTC, Between Sun and Moon, Alien Shore, Double Agent, Cold Fire, Leave That Thing Alone, Everyday Glory

Snakes And Arrows - Far Cry, Armor & Sword, Working Them Angels, The Way The Wind Blows, Main Monkey Business, Malignant Narcissism, Faithless, all really strong

Roll The Bones - Dreamline, Bravado, Roll The Bones and Ghost Of A Chance. Classics.

Presto - Show Don't Tell, Chained Lighting, The Pass, Presto, Red Tide, Available Light are my fav's

Test For Echo - T4E, Driven, Color of Right, Time and Motion, Totem and Resist are excellent.

Vaportrails - Ceiling Unlimited, Ghost Rider, Vaportrails, Freeze, Nocturne, Earthshine, Sweet Miracle, Secret Touch are the highlights.

That is my order......and I would have CA and CP as 1A, 1B. Both are just great Rush albums front to back.

Nice to see Clockwork Angels getting some love…a lot of people don't seem to like it all that much.

I like it a lot. I think if I had to rank all of those albums, CA would be #2. Even though I don't like many songs on the album, the few songs that I do like are strong songs and probably the best Rush has done in a very long time.

Yeah Counterparts.is a super-cool album, recall getting a serious buzz from it after the quieter Presto & RTB before it, the band came back with serious punch when looked like they jaded a bit. Some great memories of that time.

Which makes it difficult for me to choose between that and VT, which is just a great Rush rock album with so much variety.

CA doesnt figure as for me, half of it utter brilliance and the other half a bit sub par to be honest.

Can't decide between CP & VT..

.....

Nope, still can't

For me it's a toss up between Counterparts and Test For Echo, I think they are of equal quality when it comes to the music, but I'd give it to Test For Echo just because the cover art is so good.
