GeddyRulz
I’m starting to read again, after two years of reading almost nothing. I’m on pace to read about 15 books this year; nowhere near my old days of reading 50 per year, but at least it’s something. For those two years of not reading, I blame my iPod Touch (which can connect me to the Internet wherever I can get a WiFi signal), television, and quitting smoking (I used to go outside for a smoke or three, and bring a book). Lorraine
I used to read a lot before I got involved in this dastardly internet. Probably around forty books a year. When they started going up and up in price, I'd go to the library and check out ten at a time. Nowadays, I probably read about half that amount. Nothing like a good book though.
Rhyta
Reading is for idiots.Oh, I thought it was the other way around... I am up to about 60+ a year, some I listen to on audio now so I can do other stuff. I got burned out years ago when I was in college but once I started reading for pleasure again, I remembered what I was missing. Can't imagine NOT reading :finbar: Edited May 18, 2013 by Rhyta

ThatLightInYourEyes
My reading habits are sporadic, though things have improved since the e-reader was invented. I have a hard time actually finishing books unless I'm truly riveted.

barney_rebel
I just finished my 80th for the year, met my goal and still have a month left!! I'm going to read Contents Under Pressure as my next Rush book :dweez: I read that earlier this year. It's okay, nice photos but nothing really new a Rush fan doesn't already know. I met Martin Popoff a few times. He shows up at Rushcon every couple years and we ran into him at a Maiden show few years ago!

pjbear05
2-3 a week, and the same for the wife. The library system here allows you to reserve books online, and have it waiting at your local branch. Same for CD's & DVD's, which is why I don't watch movies in theaters much (effing rip-off, theaters.) If it's something new or hot, they put you in a queue, and you wait your turn. I've been in queues for three weeks waiting on new things or best sellers, but it works! :D the branch just called us, and Karen has 3 items from her wait list in! Gotta grab her card and make the trip, drop off my due things and look for more titles, get that later this afternoon.
x1yyz
I use Goodreads to track the books I read. So far this year I'm at about 43 or so books, and should get through another 2-4 before the end of the year. (The number varies with the type of book. Quick fiction reads can take a couple days, while thick, data-heavy non-fiction might take me a few weeks.)
goose
Most of my reading is profession related. Lots of academic stuff. I read maybe 10-20 other books a year, these days, I don't read any junk novels. They don't interest me much. The last book I read was a manuscript for a writer. I liked it more than the others that read it with me (I'm in a book club). Next on the list is "Prayer for Owen Meany", which I've read before. I re-read books quite frequently. Narps
Just can't do it. Right after my hand surgery in March out of sheer boredom I read about 5 books. I was so proud of myself and thought I was now doing what the "typical" educated individuals do. Since I have started focusing on my fitness and this freak'in forum, I doubt I will read anything any time soon....... :|

I said to myself I wouldn't come back until well after 100 books. Fitness has gone downhill for sure.
Lorraine
I used to read a lot more before the invention of the internet. I guess I read about two books a month now. Before the internet, it was about two a week - sometimes more, sometimes less.

IwillchooseFreeWill
When I read as much as I really want I feel very lazy. I read about one book a fortnight plus my Big Boring Bedtime books which are there specifically to put me to sleep. Nonfiction, history, biography, travel, suchlike. Regular books are 75% science fiction, 30% mysteries and 5% other, like Rush books.
Blue J
It has been as many as 40-50 books a year for me, but I'm definitely not there right now. Maybe 10-15.
