Your_Lion's sketches

I've posted these in various other places on the forum, but I figured I'd make a thread, so that I didn't have to hijack other threads with them

I've been uploading my sketches and caricatures onto deviantart. They're mostly of characters from TV shows and movies, but there's also a small (but growing) collection of musicians in there (Rush included).

I originally just started doing the Doctor Who characters, but I've branched out from there.

You'll notice my distinctive big head/small body style, which I came up with as a way of being able to put a lot of detail into the face, while still having room to fit in the whole body.

I mentioned to JohnnyBlaze about my intention to tackle some of the MCU characters, and in the last couple of days I've made a start on that, and done Iron man, Cap and greyfriar Thor.

Here's a link to the gallery. All the pictures are there, and there are sub-galleries down the side.

Hope you like 'em.....and if any of you have a deviantart account (I know some of you must) any favourites, comments or watches will be appreciated, and I'll get you back. :ebert:

Thanks :)

Thanks for your kind words everybody, and for taking the time to look :)

Nice! :sundog:

But where's the picture of me??? :wtf:

Now there's a challenge!

Fantastic work. I really like the Doctor Who stuff

Thanks. I still need to get around to doing Nardole and Bill, at some point.

YL, just curious - how big are these sketches ??

They're just on a standard A4 sheet of paper

There should be a Draw Other TRFers thread. Legit attempts or joke drawings. Could be fun.

A sketch of Rushhead Earl dry humping a Japanese pressing of a Steel Panther album cover is very possible.

Beautiful! :notworthy: But I'm still waiting for the Monty Python crew. And perhaps other British comedy heroes.

I was planning on doing the Pythons at some point, or at least one of each of them...There's so many characters to choose from, it's hard to decide who to do as what.

I would just do them as they are, if I had the talent, without involving any of the characters from the show. And honestly, you have to do Rowan. The way you knock 'em down, he'd be the highlight of your exhibition.

Well, I was thinking of characters, but not ones that are too "disguised".

For instance, I was thinking of Cleese with the dead parrot, Eric Idle as "nudge nudge", Graham Chapman as the army major, and so forth.

Rowan is a must...he's got the sort of face that cries out for caricaturing.
