Ya know, I ended up tossing around Moving Pictures and Presto.

Both amazing albums but in the end I had to go with Presto. Moving Pictures is outstanding, and that was some of the first Rush I'd ever heard, but Presto happens to have more songs, which I all love. It's not like I dislike MP, but there is more on Presto. The tone of the album is something I wish rush had brought back into there sound. It's so ambient and filled with reverb, creating the effect of emotion.

:goodone:

I really like PRESTO as well.

I can't find a disappointing track on it!

Oh dear! I seem to have pulled your chain_lightning...

I don't believe, I was attempting to offer anyone musical advise of any sort! It was just a rather poor effort to make a joke, playing on the theme of the thread.

Their first (No 1) studio album was Rush

Their second (No 2) was Fly By Night

so on and so forth...

I even added a cheeky wink emoji, just to emphasise the humorous intention.

Perhaps I should have been clearer?

6 = 1 for me :) being 1 0f 13

I cannot chop any of the heads off the three-headed love child of prog and hard rock: A Farewell to Kings, Hemispheres, Permanent Waves

Alot of great albums that show the bands progression. Moving Pictures is still "when Rush became Rush". However, the 70's stuff holds up well over time. 2112 will always be kind of a breakthrough. Each album back then and since has some strengths...and with Clockwork Angels I think it's safe to say they never rested on their laurels.

1. Moving Pictures

2. 2112

3. Permanent Waves

4. A Farewell to Kings

5. Clockwork Angels

Really giving caress of steel some hammer right now, is like classical rush in a universe of its own Great album when you just want something soothing & relaxing interspersed with occasional extreme vigor

So great that it gets in my top 4 that could possibly be no.1, alongside HYF, Permanent Waves & Vapor Trails

I voted Permenant Waves, but i'm surprised for the lack of love for Signals

I am shocked that the album with Countdown could be anybody's favorite. :P

I like Signals a lot, but it is probably my 10th or 11th favorite.

I'm honestly glad that you, or anyone, finds Presto that high on their list because I find very little of it inspiring..least of all the sound. It's easily at the bottom of my list right next to RTB.
