When I was a new Rush fan, back in 2011, Snakes & Arrows was my favorite album. I was listening to it all the time.

Now? Now I can not answer this question. I have said that Caress Of Steel been my favorite album, I have said that 2112 been my favorite album, I have said that Hemispheres been my favorite album. I have probably said that about every album they have done. All the albums is good in one way or another.

What I can say tho is that Caress To Steel up to Moving Pictures is all masterpiece albums.

That's me, too (except I was a 'new' Rush fan in 1979-'80). I'm thinking of some different albums from those, but the result is the same. I can't choose just one.

And I don't have to! Haha.

With a gun to my head, I can narrow it down a little bit more. It's either Permanent Waves or Hold Your Fire.

Or Hemispheres.

Or...

AFTK 1(great tunes and for sentimental reasons), 2112 1AA(side 2 is massively underrated). That is all...

PeW is one of mine...but it's seriously a toss-up. I'm juggling four or five of them.

Same here. I've got these as my top tier beginning to end listening experiences, and preference of one over the other depends on my mood:

RUSH (debut)

Caress of Steel

Permanent Waves

Moving Pictures

Grace Under Pressure

Presto

Vapor Trails

Right now and for a while it's been Grace Under Pressure. The only thing that would make this album even better is if Geddy played that snarling Fender Jazz bass he's been using and abusing from PeW-Signals and Counterparts onward.

Top 4 are pretty set in stone for me now...

2112

Moving Pictures

Permanent Waves

Power Windows

On any given day, one of them could be number 1. They are all that good and that close in quality for me.

Every time i listen to certain albums is like they could be top so really I can only list a group that could possibly fit the bill

Permanent Waves, Vapor Trails, Grace Under Pressure, Hold Your Fire, Counterparts, Signals, and Hemispheres,

Is just ridiculous leaving 2112 & Power Windows out and even Caress of Steel. I don't know what i'm doing, it's madness.

Looking back at the list though, it probably says something that I thought of Waves first, and if I had to list them again, it would still be first out.

Overplayed but still undeniably brilliant - Moving Pictures

Glad someone realises the difference between "overplayed" and "overrated"!

I may never play MP again like I used too but it will never fall out my top five!

Number one for me is Hold Your Fire.

But if you are asking me what album I think is their definitive, most perfect and representative masterwork, I'd have to say Test For Echo.

I can't decide between Farewell and Hemi, so I'm going with The Debut
