Rock critics dislike Eagles? Your opinion about this band?

The Eagles were very popular back in the 70s, after that their popularity waned. Glenn Frey had some success with the Miami Vice thing. Don Henley had more success solo wise and I much preferred his music to The Eagles.

I get the hate to a certain extent. When a band gets as big as they do and has so many overplayed hits it's inevitable that people will dislike them a lot. Mainly because folks are just sick of them. I wasn't alive during their hey day back in the 70s, so i'm rather indifferent when I hear them playing. I like Don Henley solo more than anything i've heard from The Eagles.

I only have Hotel California but don't listen to it that often. I love to hear the Walsh solos on it mostly. Other than that I am indifferent to the band. Documentary was very good though.

Eagles Live '79 is pure gold. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Frey and Henley as people, but as artists they could sure craft and execute melodies and harmonies.

The Joe Walsh years are great.

Joe Walsh...he cracks me up. Too bad he and Alex didn't write lyrics together.

Two of the funniest guys in rock.

I like them. They're mostly a "greatest hits" band for me. I'll take them any day over Queen, or early Genesis, or Porkpie Hat though.

RnB...can't be!

Don Henley had some really lousy things to say about Rush in '02 when they were getting ready to tour again.

Henley's an ass. Also a damn good song writer.
