THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

That had to be most unlikeliest comebacks of ALL TIMES. ATL had a lot to contribute to that loss more so than the PATRIOTS willing themselves to comeback to win. OK this old news where is that RED SOX THREAD?

I said the same thing to my wife after watching that unbelievable win.

It was like the 2004 team being down 0-3 to the Yankees in the ALCS, Dave stealing 2nd with Mueller coming up and tying the game. Big Papi heroics to get to game 5 and the epicness just went on from there. And it STILL wasn't as good as this.

IMO for the Falcons it's probably feels like how we lost that perfect 18-1 season in 2007 to the Giants.

But the great news is that nobody will ever question who the GOAT is now. And he's still going to play a few more years by the looks of things!

Greatest. Ever.

NFL coaching choke? I probably agree, but passing instead of giving the ball to Lynch is a close second.

I can't fathom what Shannahan was thinking passing the ball from the 25 when a field goal wins the game. And then passing again.

"The defense will never expect it!"

Yeah, 'cause it's f***ing stupid. Like the Seahawks passing from the two yard line to give the Pats the pick.

For some strange reason, I honestly wasn't too upset as the game was unfolding in the first three quarters. I told my son that was how it felt to be me growing up watching them. But he's grown up watching Brady. He never lost faith. More than anything else I enjoyed his enthusiasm.

Line of the night goes to my wife. When they got the conversion to tie it she said, "The rest of the country HATES us right now." :)

People where I was watching were thinking of going home, saying it was over, and I just said "It's only a three-score game". I mean, it's Brady and the Pats, you know? Amazing, fun comeback.

If we're a movie, you'd call it too far-fetched.

That opening sentences I MUST DISAGREE. I thought about this very thing this morning. As great as this comeback was the comeback against the Yankees in 04' is tops and will be FOREEVER in Boston lore. Especially after the crushing defeat to the Yanks and the Dent home run the year before.....Besides to me amongst the BEANTOWN teams the RED SOX are still #1.

Peace

I was telling my girlfriend, if they don't score here it's over. They scored and it was 28-9.. and I then said hmmmm..

Yeah I was saying that for the previous 3 possessions too and they didn't. :D

It was like that feeling 2 years ago with the Seahawks. You just KNEW Lynch was going to run it in to win the game, after yet another crazy ass catch to beat the Pats. Now imagine that same "OH SHIT, THEY'RE GOING TO LOSE" feeling stretched out over like 30 minutes haha. I didn't think anything could top that victory but this one sure does.

Say I wonder did that kid show up to the PATRIOTS parade with his sign 10 championship parades 13 years old? Something like that, even as a Patriot fan that kid could use a, oops up side your head. He has no idea how long of a drought the Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox went through.....There's been no suffering for that youngster.

My favorite was this guy in Copley Square holding up his dog so it could get a batter view of the parade.

It's even funnier to watch a game with a kid that age. My son is 13. When they were down by 16 points, he said, "they're still in this thing." Because that's all he's known, growing up watching Brady. I shook my head and smiled at him.

And yesterday I was at City Hall Plaza freezing my @ss off because I told him we'd go to the parade if they won. Never expected to have to pay up.

They lost the year they got punished for filming what coordinators did in front of 80,000 people after the league sent out a memo that it wanted all the teams to stop doing it.

Poor Aaron Rodgers.. Great kid, great arm, never got them to the big game :(

P.S: Rodgers is probably my 2nd favorite quarterback, so this isn't supposed to be a slight on him. Just saying I think the air pressure in the footballs being different is not Brady's problem alone. And ask the colts- After the half in the 2014 AFC game when they replaced the game balls with legally filled ones, the Pats absolutely destroyed them. It was actually a close game before that.

Over-inflating the ball would just make it harder for him to throw...the ball gets heavier the more it is inflated. And the second half of that game doesn't matter because if the first half was different the motivation would've been shifted and could've led to a Colts win.

It shouldn't matter if it makes the ball easier or harder to throw, the point is if you really want to get technical about things both QBs altered the balls from the legal tolerance.

Really? Try throwing a deflated football, then throw an inflated one. Let me know which one travels better. Pounds per square inch isn't pounds.

The Colts wouldn't have won that game under any circumstances.

I literally cannot bring myself to wade too far into this topic (try having listened to sports talk radio around here for the last few years during football season) but a ball that is less inflated decelerates faster and so it doesn't travel as far.

in fact, air-filled balls might be slightly better, as the extra mass makes them somewhat less susceptible to air resistance

It doesn't matter. The Patriots have cemented how to run an organization in the modern era of sports. Signed, sealed and delivered. They have achieved pure greatness and any other argument is nothing more than sour grapes.

Thank you. I don't know how anyone can argue with 15 years of success. It's mind blowing.
