I will always love Trek more than Wars. I believe it to be superior in its writing and its success as a mirror to hold up to our society has been largely unparalleled.

Star Wars is more fun, but has never been particularly meaningful.

That being said, the Star Wars movies are FAR superior. Trek sucks at writing movies that compare in any way to Star Wars. Empire easily wins this.

Star Wars is the best at what it does do, and what it does is amazing visual adventure.

Empire and Darth. Empire really raised the game in terms of developing and communicating the Star Wars universe. And like Zumbi said, Vader is an incredible villain of cinema. None of it works without him.

For the record, I love Star Trek. But it's best suited for a one-hour show. The films never quite lived up to the standards of series.

Empire, it is my favorite movie of all time. Khan is a movie I thoroughly enjoy but even feels low budget compared to the adventure of Empire.

KIRK! With that over all body of work is the clear winner. So much great dialogue. Men want to be him, women want to be with him.

Kirk is great but Picard is awesome!

Sisko is better than Kirk too.

I agree here. Trek fares much better as a TV show.

Some of its best stories would never see the light of day if you just had movies to tell them:

The Inner Light

Duet

Darkmok

The Visitor

Living Witness

etc etc x 1000

Instead for whatever reason most Trek movies are all about some big bad villain who will never top Khan trying hard to be better than Khan*

*and this includes Khan in ST:ID

I would rather watch the worst most embarassingly bad episode or movie from the Star Trek libaray, than the most well-acclaimed Star Wars story.

And Doctor McCoy.

Dammit, Ken!

Which is more nerdy?

Darth Vader is just a whiny brat with bad fashion sense.

The prequels lessened the character, but Rogue 1 has undone that damage.

Watching Rogue 1 in t-minus 5 minutes.

I enjoyed Rogue 1. But I can't help but imagine Hayden Christensen under that helmet. The damage can't be undone!

Wow. Tough choice but I think I'm going to give the edge to Empire. Han is my favorite character next to Leia. Edited by EagleMoon
