Left out smoked. My favorite is smoked mackerel (mullet is good but too many bones). Also like scallops and oysters. Tilapia and flaky white fish are also nice and I like those grilled/blackened. My wife and kids love crab legs. If they could they would gladly force us into bankruptcy with a daily diet of crab legs.

I'm not your damn waiter!

There are so many good fish out there that I just couldn't write a few. And actually, I'm somewhat surprised that fish isn't winning given the variety available for dining. I love halibut but it should be in a Fish Fight poll with say 20 other fish listed. Listing more than that just gets too busy IMHO. A full poll list is good for parodies though.

This country is mad for one day crab tours. Locals pay between ¥30,000-70,000 (around $300-700) for a day tour which might include bus transport, a crab lunch, a visit to a hot spring, followed by a crab dinner after the bath. It isn't worth that IMHO but these one day tours are quite popular. What kills me is how expensive the crab is for the quantity and quality you get. Don't get me wrong, it's good out here but not great. And I sure as hell don't want to waste crab on eating it raw (which some locals prefer). I'll take Alaskan King Crab legs easily over any local crab here...the Alaska King Crab is better tasting, at least 4 times the serving size, and not as expensive.

Grilled tuna among fish, octopus among 'strange creatures I had no idea they tasted so good'

I CAN eat raw octopus and squid but I don't really want to. Deep fried of either I often get from the deli or at a restaurant. Any other cooking style of either is ok but not great.
