Texas King
I am not a fan of classical music, but I absolutely adore Pachelbel's Canon - all-time masterpiece! So it's my choice. Your choice?

greyfriar
Maurice Ravel: Daphnis Et Chloe, Suite No. 2 I love that one too!One of my very favourites. In fact there are too many to list and it seems almost impossible for me to pick just a piece/movement out of an opus. It's just like asking for a fave out of Quadrophenia, The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway or Dark Side Of The Moon. :smoke:

cygnify
Stravinski - Firebird Suite (I actually played this one with my high school orchestra, which was seriously competitive - I played timpani and this was a blast!) I also really like Stavinski's Sacre du Printemps Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition is also a favorite Holst - The Planets Albinoni - Adagio Growing up in upstate NY, my parents would frequently take us to see the Philadelphia orchestra in the summer at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) - under the stars... Tchaikivsky, Stravinski, Copeland... pretty amazing experience Edited December 13, 2016 by cygnify

Mr. Not
There's a lot to consider, but for now I'll just say that symphonic rock, prog rock (namely ELP's pictures at an exhibition), and neoclassical metal is what got me really interested in classical.
