Here's the votes for Permanent Waves

x1yyz, JohnnyBlaze, EagleMoon, grasbo, RUSHHEAD666, Segue Myles, YYZumbi, Cyclonus X-1, Stormtron, Slim, Red Dwarf, Relayer2112, apetersvt, Narps, Alph Seeker, Fordgalaxy, ReRushed, treeduck, tas7, Lorraine, HemiBeers, Rutlefan, Citizen of the World, Chronos, toymaker, canadianice, vital signz, djflex, Brucey, Wil1972, rhyv, Union 5-3992, Lurkst, Mayra

.. and for all the Entre Nous fans, I'm going to send you the most schmaltzy holiday greeting card, as I am sure you'll love the sentiment

.

:yay:

Your polls are interesting, Lucas. :)

Lucas, your opinion sucks, Drama sucks, your dog is funny looking, and did I mention, your opinion sucks .... But your polls are interesting

:D

One of Rush's most universally beloved albums ((in the Rush world anyway)) vs one of Yes' least mentioned albums had only one way to go -- the way it did.

I wonder though if there's any Rush album between 2112-Moving Pictures that'd lose to any non-Rush album on this board.

Hemispheres did away with Going For The One, understandably and easily ....

With the two polls, I was going for a similar time frame ..

I do have an attachment to Drama ... Going For The One is OK, with an absolute dud of a title track

Anyways, perhaps we should get two heavyweights in the ring .....

((double post))

This Forum is so vanilla white man. What happened to the good old days or REAL METAL AND PROG!

"Wondrous Stories" is so fuckking weak.

"Going For The One" is so last place.

I have no idea what is going on here.

There used to be a chemistry between many of us.

A common bond of humans who would type endless hours into the night about quality bands and albums and songs.

Now it seems to be slipping away into the nimble night.

Is it because RUSH IS DEAD?

People really have to compare "Drama" to "Permanent Waves?" Embarrassing.

"Going For The One?"

The last great YES album is "Relayer."

So Sad About Us.

Signed,

Pete Townshend

Lucas is living proof that you can be a decent human being and dislike Entre Nous at the same time. The sweet enigma of life.

I am a human being, yet, I am a camera

No, you are a ca-ma-ra.

That song is so lame and so weak.

Give me "The Camera Eye!"

Between The Camera Eye and Into the Lens, I think Into the Lens is better (even if they both have bloated arrangements).

Just listened to Drama straight through for the first time in awhile. Still as great as I remembered, if not more so. Into the Lens is better than I remembered and Tempus Fugit is a classic. This album rocks. For my tastes Yes had become progressively (no pun intended) more twee since Close to the Edge, but this album blows that trend away. No wonder Twee Master Jon Anderson didn't think it was true to his vision of Yes; same reason I liked it so much I'd guess as I had/have zero interest in Tormato and 90125.

Am listening to the extended material now; great stuff.

Don't worry Lucas! You will get your wish

Just wait until Hillary Clinton runs our country!!

As for your picture I absolutely love it!

Rod Serling was a genius.

I'm going to Disneyland for Halloween. They are closing the Tower Of Terror for good on January 2nd.

Happy to get to go on that ride many more times before it's gone forever.

Glad many don't agree with my strong opinions about music.

So glad I'm different from everyone on here.

Originality is hard to find.

"Going For The One" is weak.

Shoot me now.

Machine Messiah is a great song, and that alone makes Drama a fine record, but Permanent Waves has Natural Science, which is better than anything Yes ever put out.

I just had to say that since one of the first comments was the opposite stance.

There are Yes moments I love beyond reason, like the bass on Roundabout. Nevertheless- I stand by what I said. I really like Natural Science. :)

Drama rocked pretty hard for a Yes album. "Does It Really Happen?" has some pretty sweet bass...

Sure there's some goofy stuff on Drama (White Car), but sonically it was a nice change from the strangely unfocused and claustrophobic production of Tormato.

Bought this album for $1.99 at Canadian Tire in the early 80s. Dunno why they had records. Also picked up Led Zep's Presence for the same price! Didn't buy any tires...

really dont get the dislike for Tormato, one of my fav albums ever still listen to it a lot now sounds fresh as a daisy not unlike Waves but very unlike drama which was kind of a bland step backward for me

Once again though, Permanent Waves absolute perfection in every way, wouldnt rate any album by anyone higher. maybe a handful of equal brilliance but certainly not higher
