Sopranos

Seinfeld

When these two were on they were REALLY on. Problem for me was that they both didn't sustain. At their best though, they're up there with my personal favorites.

I'm with you too. But they made the cut based on their catalog.

Sopranos was my #1 for years but BB, Dexter destroyed it from creativity standpoint

USA - 1) Star Trek (TOS), 2) I Dream of Jeannie, 3) Green Acres, 4) Get Smart, 5) The Munsters. UK - 1) Monty Python, 2) Doctor Who (Tom Baker) 3) Blackadder, 4) Bottom, 5) Mr. Bean. Also, I could put Space 1999 in either one of these lists.

This is hard!

#1 of all time- Pete and Pete !! You may have never heard of it. It was a kid's show on Nickelodeon in the 90's, but it was so cleverly written and such a satire on middle class family life it was hilarious. It was about 2 red headed brothers ( Pete and Pete, obv.) but would have guest stars like Iggy Pop, Michael Stipe and LL Cool J. They were supposedly a normal family but everything was just a little off about themselves, their parents, their town; everything was kind of a wonderful alternate universe. My husband found a bootleg set of all 3 seasons somewhere and I love him for it.

Seinfeld

The Sopranos

Northern Exposure

Psych

Monk

Gilmore Girls

In Concert (where they would show a live concert from a college. It was one of the only times to see groups perform before MTV/internet.)

Psych

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!

That show is great. Top notch writing and acting. It might be too goofy at times for some but very rarely does a show do eight seasons and maintain the high level a quality that this one did.

I'm still missing the last couple seasons on DVD though. I'll have to rectify that.

They have a box set of all of the episodes(I Have it). There is also bonus content that comes with it.

Yeah, there were tons of great Sopranos episodes. And it would be a top 10 show for me.

Thinking of Seinfeld, that'd probably be second behind Cheers in the sitcom department. That last season wasn't too satisfying though it wasn't bad either.

I've never seen BB or Dexter.

4. Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

You like this show that much already? Yeah, it's pretty good, but top five after only two seasons?

Well, Freaks & Geeks (an awesome show) was already mentioned and it was only one season. Also, Firefly (never saw it) was mentioned and it too was just one season

I forgot about Northern Exposure! Loved that show. Wish it had gone on a few more years.

I won't spoil anything, but these shows try to get so cute with tricking the viewer...it gets tedious. Spader is amazing as Red though...awesome in his role. I'm still pissed enough to bail.

The X-Files

Futurama

Cowboy Bebop

Twin Peaks

The Simpsons

I really loved the first season of Stranger Things too. If the second season delivers like that then it's a serious contender for me.

Same here.

If it doesn't...well the first season will forever rank as one of the greatest seasons of television ever.

I can't wait for the DVD.

Does netflix release their shows on DVD? Seems that would go against what they do with the whole streaming shows whenever you want to watch them.

Loved that show! Respeck! Funkyzeit with Bruno was good, too. Didn't care too much for the feature films.
