I often use a 650K hot sauce... actually put some in my chili today. Only about a quarter tsp in my bowl does me good...

I remember the first time I tried Dave's. It was back in 95, before the big hot sauce craze. There was a general store in Lynchburg Tennessee we stopped at on the way back from a trip to Florida. The store had all kinds of hot sauce on display, with some samples. I was taking little pretzels and dunking them into the different hot sauces. I got to the Dave's, and the lady told me not to dunk the whole thing...just put the tip in. Being all manly, I told her I could handle it. I wanted to die.

I once got a bottle of Dave's special reserve for Christmas. That stuff was ridiculous. One drop would make a bowl of chili too hot to eat.

Worst mistake I ever made was doing the ghost wing challenge a few years ago...eat 12 wings in 12 minutes. RIP my ass.

I did the Blazin challenge at Buffalo Wild Wings, I think their sauce is 350K. That wasn't terrible, but a 650K would be horrible.

Quaker Steak and Lube has triple Atomic and it is really hot, but tastes like crap.

I ate a habanero pepper once. Those are 350K or more. There was about 20 minutes where I was inconsolable. I was trying really hard not to puke and I got the hiccups really bad.

I had a very similar experience in 1995. I had ordered a spicy chicken sandwich from a local restaurant, and I told the waitress that I wanted it so hot that it hurt me (I had been to the place before and their spicy stuff was not even remotely spicy to me). So, the sandwich comes out and it was excruciating for me to eat.

Anyway, the cook comes from the back and it's a guy I know from my college. He said that they usually put a drop or too of Dave's Insanity sauce in their spicy sauce, but that he used "about 50%" of Dave's Insanity and 50% of their own spicy sauce. I had never heard of Dave's before, but that started my foray into the world of crazy spicy sauces.

I got through about half of the sandwich at the restaurant, and took the other half with me around for the rest of the day trying to get someone to take a bite. I finally finished the damn thing after about 5 hours.

I put habaneros in beef chili  Eating one by itself...yeah it's hot but also tastes f***ing nasty underneath. I love the heat but it can't taste like shit. Excellent in a recipe, though.

Funny, in like 94-95, my roommate and I went to Tiger Town Tavern in Clemson, ordered wings. The guy in the back asked how hot, and my drunk ass roommate says "Make them hotter than your mom!" The guy laughed, said "Oh, yeah?" and he then said "You couldn't make them hot enough!" Well it was mostly Insanity sauce... My roommate took one bite and got chills. Couldn't eat them. Honest to God, I ate the other 11... and paid for it dearly.

No wonder they're so hot, they look like satans pecker.

How do you know what Satan's pecker looks like? Were you taking a peak when he was in the urinal next to you?

'Satan's pecker'..! (Sorry..!)

Some harvest from Southern California!

Top peppers are Fatali Habaneros. Very tasty and about 350,000su.

Red habs are about 300,000su.

Hot Lemon or Lemon Drop only gets about 100,000su tops. They are Peruvian and,of course, have a nice lemon/citrus taste.

The red pepper on the top right came from my Carolina Reaper plant. I think they may have mislabeled it. I'll know as soon as I taste it.

Local nurseries were selling the 'Yellow' Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and one of my friends ripened to Red, so.

More soon.

I forget what they're called. But they are very high in antioxidants; like blueberrys are.

Anybody recognize these? They are growing in my garden and I'm not sure if they're ripe.

I don't know anything about them but they sure are pretty.

 Turns out that they are of the Aurora variety. They turn yellow when ripe and are very hot! They oil is tough to get off the hands.

I hope you didn't find that out by rubbing your eye! :fury:
