Actually PW is my fav Rush album it's my Number 1 just perfection. Its got short catchy songs, epic long tracks, even i nice little love song (I guess) thrown in for good measure, and this was the begining of the reggae/The Police influence on Rush which I loved so much (even the reggae re-working of "Working Man" which I hope comes back again)

Despite being in my 50's, I consider myself a neophyte when it comes to Rush. Just immersed myself over the past 6 months after seeing my first show (R40, obviously). Therefore, I consider my rating very much incomplete, but PW is my favorite album. Although I rarely skip through a song or two when listening to any Rush album, I would never consider bypassing any of the six phenomenal cuts on PW. Such great diversity throughout - although I love so much of their 1970's works, I really think they Rush totally "came of age" with PW.

Horrible album. A nightmare to listen to. How could these guys ever think about making such an awful, unlistenable, just plain terrible piece of—

Ugh, I can't do it. Permanent Waves is just too freakin' awesome.

I just noticed that "I love it!" has 92 votes. Couldn't get that many today if we tried. Sad.

Does it have something to do with how the 80s fans outnumber the 70s fans . . . ?

Don't know, but I think the time has come for me to move out and on.

Xanadu is the best song written by any band at any time in the history of music!

I like Union5-3395 but he would be banned for his vote if I was the Trump of TRF.

It was a BS vote. It's legitimately my favorite album by the band

That changes everything. I'd bro hug you at the bar and buy you a Bourbon.

I will say that it is an okay album. I like some of the songs on it, and it is fun to listen to, but it doesn't hold up to the epic monstrosities of 2112 and Hemispheres, or the tightness of Moving Pictures.
