JohnRogers
How about that Michael Jackson? The child molesting white woman who died on the same day as Farrah Fewcett???
Segue Myles
Had absolutely no idea anyone particularly liked this man around here! I must rave about him more often. This dude is a total legend! Alive in my world, always! Unfortunatley, not a lot of people are willing to admit they really like his music because of the fact that MJ has unfortunately become the ass-end of many a joke over the years.... But all joking aside, he made f***in' Thriller, man. No one can ever touch that level of success. Thriller is great, but I personally think Bad and Dangerous were better! Especially Dangerous. That album is my squishy, and it shall be my squishy.
RushCanuck
Didn't care for him as a child singing love songs with the Jackson Five. I Did like some of his music when he went solo, like Rock with You and Beat It.Once he started going weird, carrying chimps and little boys and altering his face, I couldn't get past that and paid no further attention. Got very tired of the paparazzi aspect. For some people, his weirdness will overshadow his musical accomplishments.
custom55
I never bought a Michael Jackson album but I certainly appreciated his talent. He was all over MTV in the 80's I did attend the Victory Tour ( The Jackson 5 ) in the 80's at Giant Stadium in NJ. Catchy tune and video. http://youtu.be/y6Gm2gt56kU
goose
In the documentary "This Is It", Michael's genius and weirdness come thru perfectly clear. It's very well done, and I find it mesmerizing. I was never a big fan, although I've always liked "I'll Be There" and "Ben".

If I had a time machine, I'd definitely see him on the Bad tour in 1988 or the Dangerous tour in 1992.

Entre_Perpetuo
One of my favorite singers of all time most definitely. Right up close to Freddie and Steven in my book.

Rick N. Backer
I like Off the Wall and Thriller a lot. Bad is, ironically, not bad, but not great. After that, not really too interested in his material.
Ancient Ways
I like Off the Wall and Thriller a lot. Bad is, ironically, not bad, but not great. After that, not really too interested in his material. I would have to agree with this. He's a talented guy who wrote a lot more than his haters probably realize. He wasn't just a performer playing other people's songs. Ultimately, if you write songs I will give you props even if the genre isn't my cup of tea. Interesting note: Everyone focuses on the fact the Eddie Van Halen played the solo on beat it. Steve lukather and Jeff porcaro of toto played bass and drums on it.
ru_ready
myself, i couldn't give a damn about him or his "music" the guy was a child molesting sideshow as far as i could care. what is even more funny is that before his death NO BODY spoke about the washed up freak. he dies and he is greater a person than Jesus Christ himself....

I think you should watch this. https://www.youtube....h?v=wORay1g3bAM This documentary shows the truth about what happened in 1993 and 2005. The interesting part of all this, Aphrodite Jones used to think MJ was guilty until she started to look more into the cases and now she's one of the only media figures who actually tries to defend him. IMO he was a genuine decent loving soul who didn't fit in our fukked up World. Misunderstood and demonized to the n-th degree.. sad.
Ancient Ways
I thought we were talking about his musical talent and career as a performer but since the tone has changed I'm going on the record as saying I believe he was a deeply disturbed person with, at a minimum, an unhealthy obsession with children but was likely a pedophile that paid off families to avoid prosecution, and no, I don't want to watch a film about how he wasn't.

Which is fine, Michael Jackson presented himself in such a strange way he was always going to polarize.

Which is fine, Michael Jackson presented himself in such a strange way he was always going to polarize. As a grown man I have never had the urge to hang around young children. Any normal person starts getting annoyed at preteens around 15 y.o. unless they're your kids and still...maybe. Anyone that is into this has problems no matter what an investigative reporter says. No normal person hangs their kid out of a window a couple floors off the ground. He was obviously disturbed in some way. Unless a psychiatrist that actually treated him has new information to release then it's conjecture. One thing I find as you get older is your conjecture is as good as anyone else's when it's all over. But Segue is correct, I just don't care....and he's dead.

That's not uncommon and, more often than not, happens whenever anyone famous dies. I wonder what happened to Michael Jackson though. Was it the drugs? And, if drugs, why drugs? Didn't he have everything most people wish they had? Apparently, judging from the drug overdosing deaths and suicides in the celebrity world, it isn't. This morning I heard "Wanna Rock With You". It's still a great song, and I find it very sad that the man that immortalized it took the route he did.
