So this is obviously going to be a blow out unless none of you Steve Wilson Fanbois participate in this little Blank Planet Poll!kel

Well I'm a Tobias Forge Fanboi. Proud of it!

Satanic sticks and skeleton bones can't break me!

Don't get me wrong. I will always love Steven's work. He is beyond a genius, but like all things, greatness is often replaced by others as time marches on.

For me Tobias has now passed Steven.

I remember falling in love with the old PT albums from the Nineties.

Well now as I type this I am listening to Magna Carta Cartel. Reminds me of a young Steven Wilson.

Don't listen to me. Don't believe in me.

I know my shit.

So I am telling you to give MCC a chance. You can download it from iTunes or probably listen to it for free.

Also Submission is great too. The album and the EP.

I'm just spreading the love.

I know I'm a broken record but music is my religion. My true MUSE.

Tobia Forge is IT for me.

His music speaks to me and is keeping me on that balanced path of life.

Love it, hate it, embrace it or erase it.

It's all good.

We all have "Freewill."

I'm going to head down south to check into the "Borderline Bordello."

You Pap Wiz Kids should get that one.

Ghost Is The New Rush!

Ghost doest have anything close to the gigantic body of work Steven has. But if I compare just his solo work alone, he still wins. Though Ghost beats iNSURGENTES. They beat Blackfield though

You are the man! I totally get it!

I will revisit this dead poll in ten years when Ghost has 6.66 more albums out. Also by then Tobias will have three solo albums.

That's why I wrote this insane thread.

I see the "Second Coming." LOL

Tobias is the new Steven.

I'll vote for Tobias! (Okay, fine, I've never actually heard Porcupine Tree or Steven Wilson, but why should that keep me from voting?!) Edited by x1yyz

That's why I voted for Tobias.

Never heard of Porcupine Tree until they opened for Dream Theater a number of years back. I never knew who Steve Wilson was until I joined this forum.

Loved Meliora, love Steven Wilson (though way less than I did back in 2011) but let me give Ghost more listens (still haven't listened to the first album, and I need to give Infestissumam another listen as it's been awhile since I last listened to it) as well as listening to Tobias' stuff outside of Ghost before I can say which one's better but I'll take a no comment until then. Wilson for me. :notworthy:

His catalog is huuuge, and the man has the talent to write some great, catchy songs. He's a pure genius when it comes to create atmospheric moods in ten minute plus songs. His guitar solos (and lyrics) are top notch!!!

He's a very down to earth guy and the biggest fan of Cygnus X-I. The man can talk for hours just about that song.

Great musician and a fine, gentle character.

Steven Wilson wins by a mile, not even close. I like Ghost and they are fun, but Wilson delivers on so many levels over several genres.

Way to be an informed voter! Admirable!

I don't see any geniuses in the options. But I'm definitely going with Steven Wilson over the other fool.

No doubt, they're both geniuses, and here's Wilson and the other fool... :P

Hey X-1!!!

Guess what rhymes with FOOL???

GHOUL!!!

Tobias Rules!!!

Wilson is old news and a bore!!

I don't get it Earl, does this mean you feel like you have to put all your PT and Wilson albums in storage to make room for your Ghost albums? If not I don't understand what you mean? Can you not listen to both of these guys?

You mean the ones who want Wilson to get back to Porcupine Tree and dump the solo career?

I like his music and all, but I also find humor in poking fun at the dude and all the devout SW fans who think he can never do wrong and/or can't take a joke when it's appropriate.

SW stands for STAR WARS right? Steven Wilson is the biggest dork on this Blank Planet.

He needs to "GET A HAIR CUT AND GET A REAL JOB!"

Earl... are you kidding? :eh:

Hey Silly Sue! I knew this thread would draw you out!

No I'm serious!

As much as I love Steven Wilson and all that he has done it's time to pass the torch!

Wilson is boring. Tiring. Bland. Trivial.

He blew his wad with PT. Nothing can touch that material. Sorry!!!!!

Time to move on!!!!

FORGE THE FUTURE BABY!

Of course, you know I totally disagree, Earl. ;)

Besides, I saw Ghost open on the Heritage/Hunter tour, and I thought they were too gimmicky with too little substance. I just thought it was kind of juvenile. If I want some Skeletor-looking priest singing to me about doom and gloom, I'll go to church. And, his robed minions had on jeans and sensible shoes under their robes. It would have been more convincing if they were, like, naked under there and barefoot, or wearing Jesus sandals. But, that said, I haven't sat down and listened to any of their music. That was only my first impression of them.
