Worst original studio Rush song.

I looked for a thread on this and couldn't find one.

Instead of 10 different comments on the same song, either find a song that you agree is the worst Rush song of all time and "like" it instead of adding a new comment, or nominate one that hasn't been nominated yet. Try to "like" only one comment in this thread for an accurate overall opinion.

I nominate "The Larger Bowl" as the worst Rush song of all time. It is boring, and depressing. Geddy's groaning and Neil's lyrics that seem to imply that some social problems can't be fixed in the world make me want to break shit. Even Alex's decent solo can't save this song.

If you agree that it is the worst, like my comment. If you want to nominate other song, back it up with some evidence.

As much as I hate the entirety of Vapor Trails, I think the worst Rush song of all time is "Dog Years". It might have worked better as a comic relief song had Test for Echo been a better album overall, but it's a horrible song on an album that is average. There are two Rush songs that bring up "what were they thinking?" every time I hear them..."Dog Years" and "I think I'm going Bald". At least Geddy could still hit the high notes on the latter of the two.

At least ITIGB is a fun little ditty on and otherwise (as time has proven) very good to excellent album. If you think about COS it is a very "dark" album and the song fits as a bit of relief from that as Lakeside Park fits as a beautiful little thought provoking song... :)

You Bet Your Life

Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner!

I wasn't going to post anything either, DD. But have crowned the champion, here.

And why? What reason have I, to back up my choice?

It's just...insipid. It's an insipid Rush song.

Why the focus on whats the worst?

Are we that pressed for topics here?

Yes... ;)

Okay fine...

Take a Friend

Rivendell

You Bet Your Life

The Big Wheel

Can't pick just one?

And two of these are at least good and I don't mean the last two... :)

How do we get to page two without a reference to Tai Shan?

I think the short list is:

Tai Shan

Rivendell

Madrigal

Agree totally on Tai Shan but not the other two. There are many far worse post 85' than those two in my view. Every album has at least a couple and some more than that... :codger:

As someone who loves every song Rush has put out its hard for me to pick one. But if I had to it would be Tai Shan. I still love the song though.

Welcome to the TRF  . Bless you if you truly love ALL and EVERY one of their songs. Is that you Zumbi?... Edited by Narps
