I know I am right - they are not done. They are better than they ever were. They are bigger than they ever were. They are having more fun than they ever had. Don't you think they know all of this? They are not stupid. They aren't walking now. Neil said he felt better seeing how well his daughter handled the tour. They love to play. That's who they are. They aren't stopping now. By the way, no one in Rush ever said they were done. The press release stated this could be the last tour of this magnitude. There will be another album. There will be another tour. There may be a week in NY or a week in Vegas. Their last official show will be in Canada. They will market the hell out of it. How many farewell tours were announced by Kiss, Elton, The Who, Cher, and others? Rush didn't even announce it as a farewell tour. There will be farewell tour t shirts and all kinds of hoopla when the time comes. You'll see and you'll remember that I was right.

Someone on cygnus-x1 said they heard on planet rock that Rush will be doing some limited European Dates. Anyone confirm this crazy ass rumor?

Heheheh, it's over, my friend. It's time for people to face the reality. Rush, as you know them, will NEVER tour again.

FOH, did Rush and crew have a big farewell party?

They had an after party, I do know that..Farewell no. End of tour yes.

Was it right after the LA show, or did they have one the next day?

Same day..at the Forum. Saw some photos posted on Facebook. I am not an insider.

Must have been quite the bash. I would have loved to have been there sitting quietly in a corner just observing.

I think I posted this somewhere on here but my buddy got into the after party. He saw Neil walking around in a denim jacket. Terry Brown was there. He got his picture with Alex. He saw the Foo Fighter guys. He saw Chad Smith and Paul Rudd. Neil left early of course but everyone else stayed until around 2:30 am.

Oh jeez, Stewart Copeland was also there.

Earl, are you joking or serious? Terry Brown was there????

And Stewart Copeland??? After Neil, I love him as a drummer the best.

Taylor Hawkins, Kelly McCreary (Grey's anatomy), & Matt Stone were also there, among a LOT of others.

Donovan took this amazing picture on Saturday and captioned it: "One more walk to the stage today..."

Here's what is quickly becoming the "infamous" picture again.

FOH, they said on another thread in another section that this picture is a few months old already.

You say different.

Can someone get to the bottom of this so we can all sleep peacefully tonight?

IDK why someone would say it's an old picture. Donovan posted it on Saturday 8/1/15.

Hate to break it to you, but you aren't saying anything here that others haven't been saying since the tour started. I do think we will get a new album and a limited number of shows. I just don't think we may ever see a normal tour from them again. Don't be surprised if R40 is it for a long time. I got a feeling it will be a few years before we hear about anything new going on with Rush. Over the last ten years they've done five full tours and released two new albums. That's a lot of touring and I think they'll be taking a long break for now.

It's not the end but things will definitely be different for them going forward.

Sorry, but you don't know Rush as well as you think you do if you believe they'd ever hype a farewell tour just because other bands have done that. Really.

This WAS their farewell tour and there WAS hoopla (in case you missed it). Neil might get talked into scattered appearances down the road, but they will never be done for marketing purposes. He's almost 63 with a family at home and chronic tendonitis. He's never liked having to play live and now he's free of it. He's already rich and can earn enough further income from writing, which is a million times easier than drumming. He's never wanted or needed the spotlight of being a rock star and that's not likely to change as a senior citizen. It sucks for us that we've reached this point, but he's done with being an active member of Rush.

And why do you think you know more than me or anyone else on this board? You know nothing and you certainly don't know who I am, who I know, and what I may know. You can only speculate like the rest of the members here. Time will tell. You will see that I am right.

If things play out the way you think they will (funny how you say we're all just speculating, then turn around and say you know what will happen), I will be glad to come back and tell you that you were right.

If you wanna believe Neil's gonna wake up one day thinking "You know what, that Gene Simmons had the right idea. Screw my age, screw my ailments, screw my family, we can make some serious cash on a farewell tour. Where did I put those sticks?", knock yourself out. That would be about the biggest character change in rock history, but who knows.

And you know this how? Because Neil told you himself? You read the same press release as everyone else. You know nothing more than that - and therefore you are speculating. Time will tell who was right. I'll be right here to remind you of that when they kick off their farewell tour.

Well, FOH has a close association with the band, so he knows better than most of us what's going on.

Mieko, Has FOH been inaccurate once? It is clear he is associated with the band. The hard truth is tours are over.

I have given up hope.

I do believe that Rush will release more music.

I do believe that Rush will play some concerts live.

But I don´t think they will ever come to Europe again. It is to far away from their homes.

Right now I am just happy that I saw them live 3 times. Thou I am kinda down right now... I am sad that I never could see them on this amazing tour...

I feel the same. I'm sad I wasn't able to attend a show on this tour in person, but at least I have the Blu-Ray to look forward. Also, I feel happy about having seen them at all.

It's not the distance.

Do you men realize the cost involved in doing it? Sweden isn't down the road from North America you know. It would cost them millions just to transport equipment and crew.

They have done it every tour since R30 Tour. What stop them to do it now then?

R40 was probably one of, if not the biggest production they ever did. It would have cost them a lot more money to bring it to Europe, so that was probably a big reason. Also, I don't think any of them, especially Neil, want to be that far from home again for a long period of time.

I was recently talking to a good friend of mine at an event, (who lives in the mid west, and was able to go to two shows on this tour) His OPINION is that if they DO add more dates to the R40 tour, they would add more to the US and Canada, and end in Pittsburgh (since that was the first official show with Neil) or Cleveland. Although he highly doubts that it's gonna happen...He also said that he had the opinion that they were going to add more dates earlier in the tour, but as things started playing out, he felt that things seemed to be coming to a close.

(I just told him that I didn't care what they did as long as they did a whole week in Hershey, I'd be a happy camper)(he snorted wine through his nose)

Having seen all of my Rush shows minus 2 in Pittsburgh....(moved to GA 3 years ago) I felt it was really off not to hit Pittsburgh and Cleveland both....so who knows?

For the record that's 15 shows in Pgh and 2 in Atl....:)

When was this picture taken? At break? After? I would think they would be surrounded by more people than just the three of them walking down a lonely hallway.

It is a sad picture.

It's a still from the exit video of the tour.

I saw that video and this picture doesn't look like it is from it. I could be wrong.

That's why I'm asking FOH when it was taken.

I see what you mean.

I just took a look at the exit vid posted on Youtube. The configuration of their positions as they walk down the hallway is different, but it looks like it's the same hallway. My guess is that they probably "filmed" several takes of them in the hall and someone took some stills as it was happening.

Good hallway footage starts at about the two minute mark...
