My Driving Experience Down To LA For Both Shows Was Surreal. Rush Music Met Mother Nature Head On! CHAIN LIGHTNING! FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS!

So I wasn't going to share this but fuckk it. I got back safe from LA so now I am on my good old trustworthy Apple!

So as the Rush dork that I am I decided to play every Rush album from "Test For Echo" to "RUSH." The only live albums I had active were "ASOH" and "ATWAS."

It was on my iPod which was connected into my Audi Media Center. Not a fan as I am still a cd guy.

So anyway by the time I got down to the Grapevine on the Interstate 5 I started to notice some serious ominous dark cloud systems.

It looked ugly and gray. From a faint distance I could see rain shrouding the barren landscape.

Shit I can write like Neil! LOL!!

So by the time I was ascending into the wicked wet weather "A Show Of Hands" was playing.

As I made my way to the darkness "Marathon" was playing.

I swear to God you must believe me. I don't bullshit.

I saw my first lightning strike and the lyric "Like a streak of lightning that flashes and fades in the summer sky" was sung by Geddy.

I freaked out yet remained cool.

As I continued to go into the mountainous incline "Force Ten" kicked in. As I stared into the skies pouring above there was an opening within the clouds above. It truly looked like the "eye of the storm." I was like blown away. Pun intended.

I kept getting these flash flood warnings on my phone while I was going through the Grapevine. It was bizarre to be honest.

As I was driving in the far left lane I saw a small gray car far right. The vehicle flew off the road into a ditch.

I was actually a bit nervous driving through this insane rain in the middle or tail end of summer.

Never done this before.

Anyway to "CUT TO THE CHASE" for some reason after "A Show Of Hands" was over the next Rush album was "Presto."

I swear to God or to whoever once "Chain Lightning" came on the sky lit up like in a fukking freaking "Frankenstein" film!!

Guys I was totally in awe. Chain lightning was going off all around me while the song was playing.

It was a trip man!! What are the odds?

Once I made it through the Grapevine and started to descend into the Valencia area the sky was blue and the temperature was back up to 100.

Inside the Grapevine the temperature dropped to 78 degrees.

It was a wild experience.

So was last night seeing the greatest band in the world end their existence. Or perhaps not!

Hey I will tell you all who waste their time reading this shit.

My buddy got into the after party last night.

Perhaps this is old news but the Foo Fighters were there. Paul Rudd. Chad Smith. Stewart Fukking Copeland. Terry Brown!

So hey I guess Neil and Stewart are friends after all eh?????

I am sure you real fans remember the story of Stewart Copeland coming up to Neil back in the Eighties and Neil totally blew him off!

Urban Legend or FACT?

Who knows!!!

RUSH RULES FORFUKKINGEVER!!!

ALL POSERS NEED TO EXIT STAGE LEFT!!

I'm totally connected to Mother Nature and RUSH!

Some say that I'm "Losing It" I say fuckk that!!!

I know what I love and I love what I know.

I'm not on drugs while writing this.

RUSH IS MY DRUG!!!!

Yeah man, Peart & Copeland are cool now I guess. Never knew about their rivalry. Copeland invited Peart to play with him a little bit ago at his home. He claimed that he recorded a drum battle from hell between him and Neil and Alex was there playing every guitar he could find. He had it all on a hard drive and somehow it got erased/ruined and he lost it,

That's true buddy! You are correct!

I mean let's be honest here. Even Neil mentions how he was influenced by Copeland on the "Signals" record. Also "Vital Signs" in my humble opinion.

As a matter of fact I think Alex Summers I mean Andy Lifeson was also influenced. Man the guitar parts are soooooooooo Police. JMO

You forgot to mention that bit you told me, remember? As you were turning down that last boulevard that leads to Chateau RUSHHEAD, you see a prostitute JUST AS "In The Mood" was on. So you figured, "This ain't no coincidence, this is destiny. I'm listening to Geddy!" You pull up to her in her tight red leather cheerleader outfit, flash a Ben Franklin, and say, "Hey baby, it's a quarter to eight. I feel I'm..."

And you lived happily ever after...or at least until 7:55.

HAHAHA!!!

Epic buddy! Considering my current situation with my soon to be ex wife I'm still a faithful fool. Celibate for 17 months but hey I will tell you a quick story.

So I went to the Conga Room on Friday night. I know the owner so I was treated with "Kid Gloves." I was able to eat and drink for free all night.

So around 1 AM they guys I was with took off. I went back to the dance floor area.

As soon as I got there I ordered a Modelo and my bloodshot blue eyes suddenly fell upon a very hot young lady.

She glanced at me as she was dancing alone.

Now being a total Rush nerd who hasn't dated in twenty years I just stayed pat and watched her dance.

She kept staring over at me. It was quite exciting.

Long story short she came over to me and grabbed my hand. Told me her name was Andrea. She instantly gave me her phone number and grabbed me by the hand.

I let her lead. As I may be a drummer I have no clue on how to salsa. This chick was smoking hot. Columbian. I was blown away. I did my best on the dance floor but wow what a way to end the night.

She wanted to go out on Saturday night but of course I had to hit the LA Forum for some nerdy prog band named LUSH I mean RUSH.

Anyway it totally get it. Perhaps I still have "GAME" or I was just taken as a fool.

Too good to be true?

Nah

My LA trip was one of the greatest times I have ever had in my lifetime and I went down there ALONE!

I'm learning that I don't need to be with someone just to be with someone.

Being alone and independent is f***ing fun and cool.

Heck what the fuckk do I care right? I reproduced. I have two amazing daughters. DONE.

Rush is retiring at R40.

Wendy and I are retiring at R20! LOL! Yep my last name is Ramer so it all makes sense.

It's sad but I don't care.

I'm going to reboot and start my life over.

It's going to be hard without Rush concerts but fukk it life goes on.

We have the music.

Rush will keep me young forever.

Women come and go.

Nothing lasts forever.

Only family, a few good friends and Rush.

That's it for me.

Love ya Blaze!!

Time for some PURPLE HAZE!!!

Cheers!!!!

CHEERS!

:blaze:

HAHAHA!!!

Cheers!!!!

"Celibate for 17 months", "What the f**k do I care? I reproduced"...hehe! And Columbia!!! Game, no game, wanted to bone you, didn't want to bone...none of it matters. Only happiness matters yeah? Look for it, take it, share it.

:blaze:

Exactly! That's why I haven't done shit man!

I don't need a woman to be happy. I've learned that.

My girls make me happy. Music and drumming make me happy.

That's why DON'T BONE STRANGERS!!!!!
