The most inexcusable, unforgivable, unconscionable omission from R40

It would have been really funny if they did one Power Windows song, and for that song, Geddy ties his hair back and wears an actual raccoon skin hat :)

Limelight and Freewill. Don't know how you leave those songs out of the last tour ever in favor of multiple songs from Clockwork Angles and Snakes N Arrows that 75% of the crowd has never heard before.

It is what it is, and whatever...

Lime is still the infinite jest...?

"Each of us..."

A cell of hypnotism? HELIUM?

Love Free Will and Limelight, but they've been performed magnificiently, my2 cents

Never forget ESL.

Only four shows in the northeast. Serious omission. That SLC venue was tiny and "nearly" sold out. KC sections curtained off. More shows in the center of the country than northeast. Ray, what's the dealio, serious cash left on the table.

Limelight is really tired. I can totally see why they'd skip it.

If they'd asked me I'd have told them it was totally cool to leave out Tom Sawyer and SOR too.

I mean who would really have complained? Do any casuals actually go to see Rush?

Do any casuals actually go to see Rush?

Oh yes. More than you'd think.

Especially on this tour, since Rush is suddenly "in".

I dunno, I think Rush has been mainstreaming 'in' since the '07 Snakes tour. For whatever reason.

About time hard rock fans started getting a clue. :)

'Cause soon, we won't have anymore Rush ACDC Van Halen GunsnRoses Floyd whoever anymore.

They're aging. We're aging. Eras are passing.

Sigh. C'est la vie.

Speaking of ELP...they need to do a "farewell" tour....

I've gone to see loads of gigs where the "hits" we'e left out, and still the world turns.

Oldfield didn't play Tubular Bells

Neil Young didn't play Rocking in the free world or harvest moon.

Tom waits didn't play downtown train or jersey girl.

Just saying.

Speaking as someone who will be seeing their first Rush show ever in LA in a couple of weeks, I would have complained if they left out TS. And loudly!! I'm not flying all the way from Australia to NOT hear Tom Sawyer.

I think I heard that they chose to leave Limelight out since they were doing some longer songs later and felt it was the lesser of the 3 big songs to leave out. There is no way they are going to skip TS or TSOR.....just not happening.

They chose the songs they liked, and if people who have come to Clockworks Angels/Snakes and Arrows tours don't know those songs then they were asleep, they have been played a lot. I thought they were great! :finbar:

I personally know the songs and they are fine (although I can't say I connected with the last two albums).

Based on what I saw at the Boston show, I'd say that 75% of the peopl there either did not know or did not care about hearing the CA and SnA songs..: looking around the vast majority were sitting on their hands, basically waiting for the later songs to come on... Once they did, a lot more people were up out of their chairs cheering/dancing etc..

A couple of those easily could have been eliminated and replaced with a couple more "classics" that the majority of fans would have loved hearing.

Didn't they leave spirit of radio out a few times on the last tour?
