Geddy's been saying, "We hope to see you again sometime" after R40 concerts

Do you think Rush would want to end their career with ten thousand and more fans weeping and wailing and depressed as anything at the end of each show because it's the end of the road?

They will end their career on an upbeat note. And maybe they will see you again one day. Maybe they won't. They don't know what the future holds, so they aren't going to commit themselves positively one way or the other.

Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Exactly.

By the way I think this new thread is kind of silly but you know it's all in good fun.

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies... :|

What else is he gonna do, end shows with, "Goodbye forever!"?

How about "Neil hopes to see you again real soon sometime"?

It's a great line from Shawshank, no doubt. :)

But there really is no need for hope.

Bands retire. It's inevitable.

I continue to fail to see the logic of wanting your favorite bands to play themselves into the grave.

I don't either. Just love the line...

I think it may very well be their last tour. Like they've said, they might do some more shows, and almost certainly (from what they've said) will do another album or two. And who knows. I think that they are gonna give themselves a few months after the current tour before discussing what the future holds.

On the outside I was an honest man. I had to go to prison to learn how to be a criminal.

Problem is that with the state of the music biz, doing an album and not supporting it with a tour is like pouring money down a sink hole. No doubt these guys like making music, but they are not stupid. There will be more tours, probably in the 10 -15 date area, but they will happen.
