CttE is the perfect Prog Rock album, IMNSHO. It is also Yes' best album.

Hemisphere's is a great album, but it's not even Rush's best album. It may not even be their best Prog Rock album.

And Close to the Edge isn't?

He is a much bigger Rush fan to be fair.

Neither are my favourite albums of their respective bands, but CTTE just wins out...

Are we comparing Hemispheres vs CTTE albums or title tracks?

This is very important, because if it's title tracks, CTEE wins without so much as a second thought

But if it's albums as a whole we're comparing.. I'm actually not entirely sure which wins.

In any case, this thread should be in MOTS, not feedback ;)

CTTE is probably my favorite album of all time. There are a lot of tremendous albums out there that are incredible from start to finish. "Flawless" is not a term I throw out lightly. Close to the Edge is the only album ive ever heard that is flawless

I find Yes to be terribly overrated. Not a popular opinion here, I know.

For some they don't rock hard enough, and I definitely have to be in the mood, but I love them almost as much as Rush! But the main difference is that I can play Rush whenever, same as Kansas or Styx.

Maybe I am not prog enough? Regardless, my favourite Yes album is my favourite prog album of any band (Tales From Topographic Oceans).

Actually, an unpopular opinion would have been for you to say that you find Rush overrated.

Rush are on the cover of Rolling Stone, of course they are overrated! ;)

Yes, and I looked this morning for the latest RS. Not out.

If anyone wants me to pick up a copy of it for them, let me know. I don't think they'll be selling like hotcakes in my neck of the woods.

Hemispheres is a good album, but this is Close to the Edge we're talking about.

Finally, we agree!

There's no comparison. CTTE blows Hemispheres right off the planet. It doesn't even come close to CTTE.

I knew that you prefer Close to the Edge- but I wasn't aware it's by such a wide margin.

In my opinion, Rush's full side epics don't come close to Yes.
