The Booger Myers Band aka Del_Duio

Recommended Posts

Haven't had that one yet haha.

Dell - Dooie - OH

I suppose. Made it up about 25 years ago at a Maine Bowling Alley (them's new-fangled electronic score things asked for our names to display up on the wall and that was mine).

Here's another old one that was / is supposed to have been featured prominently in a game I've been on and off making for almost 8 years called Hasslevania 2. If nothing else, I have the song.

It's about the 17+ year life cycle of the cicada, insects I used to see all the time as a little kid in the midwest growing up.

If you can get past the singing, the music is decent enough.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQPULqvMf6c

Lyrics to sing along to:

I. Into the sky

Up in the sky

Way up high

Dodging the trees so we don't die

Look at that spot

It's good

Man, I don't feel so good

Landing to lay our eggs

Now why can't we feel our legs?!

II. Under the earth

It's soft and warm and cozy

Far below the ground

It's where we're living- Darkness, safe and sound

But now it's time!

The egg just hatched!

Squirming larval soup: "We eat and sleep and sleep and eat and poop"

III. Perchance to poop (instrumental)

IV. To the Surface

The years have passed

This life half-assed

It's almost time to rise

Time to leave this soil most dispised

We dig and dig, it takes forever

Will we stop? NEVER!!

The coldness grips our exoskeletons

Our life now begins!

V. The Courting of Bug Bitches

It's lonely out here

Where's all my friends?

Climbing on fence posts? Splitting their skins?

I feel strange, I'm starting to molt

Now I have wings, but where do I go?

I'd impress the big bitches, but I ain't got the dough..

Well, here comes one now

WHATTA YA KNOW?!

I impressed the bug bitches!

VI. Into the Sun

The deed is done

It's time to run

Flying off into the sun

These wings are new

To go unused?

What do we do?

What do we do?!

Falling faster

Crashing down

Like a bullet towards the ground

A LIVING BULLET TOWARDS THE GROUND!!

VII. Into the sky (reprise)

Up in the sky

Way up high

Dodging the trees so we won't die

Look at that spot

It's good

Man, I don't feel so good

Landing to lay our eggs

Why can't we feel...?

Dude. Crazy stuff. Funny. Musically interesting as always. Do you record 2 vocal tracks always? I can see the progression of the music, in terms of the time span you've been making the tunes. I love this progressive crazy stuff. Man. Was Les Claypool your sperm donor? His influence, along with many others, is very obvious. However, you have your own style, and slant.

By the way, the Cicada's here were off the chains crazy in Goatnut, TN. It sounded like a martian invasion (whatever that sounds like).

Ok now the song is over. Damn man. No one else would sound right singing your music--that's for sure!

No, not always but my favorite band is Midnight Oil so I love backup vocals and attempts at harmony when possible.

I seriously have like 20 or 30 more Booger Myers Band songs that aren't up on the internet yet. Most are very different from each other, you might not even know it's the same person doing them. I'll probably make another video in the next week to make use of the green screen again. I just don't know which song to use yet. I have one with a drum solo that actually came out OK except for one part of the singing that's shrill even by my standards and that part's hard to listen to. Otherwise, it's extremely different and I think uses a 3 part vocal line. The drums are good at least LOL.

That's my 2 nieces' favorite too. They are only 5 and think their uncle jumping up on tables with oven mitts on is hilarious.

Yesterday I listened to "Sign the Line" again...that is your Talking Heads moment.

And you may ask yourself: MY GOD, WAS THIS REALLY WRITTEN 14 YEARS AGO???

Kind of done quickly but here's a new one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7RtvpuaLPk&feature=youtu.be

Goatnut approved

Jake and Wylie loved it. I can tell yer loving that green screen. This song was a lot of fun. Lyrically very deep--perhaps your magnum opus...just kidding, the "Ode to Goatnut" fills that slot!

I seriously threw this together in like 2 hours from start to edit to finish, it would be helpful if I had a friggin' camerman to say "HEY YOU DOPE, WE'RE ZOOMED IN TOO MUCH I CAN'T SEE YOUR HEAD!"

I have some game programming to work on this weekend but I might try and do another one too. I just have to choose which one, I have too many so it makes it hard.

Here's one from earlier this year but I really dig the song structure.

Can anybody here please help me on what time signature(s) this is in? I think the outro is.. 6/8??

Ah what do I know..if it's not 4/4 I can't tell :D

Thank you!

Aw c'mon, nobdy here knows time signatures here?

This is the same lot that can tell you the lead content in the paint of a 1974 Les Paul, what the heck a E#maj/sus 7th is good for, How many paradiddles Neil's ever played in concert, or can draw the pickup wiring diagrams of a 4001 Ric in their sleep. :(

Okay, here's a brand new one that's either really good or really bad I can't tell yet. XD

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7tnhLumf5g&feature=youtu.be

They'll come down from the nursery

With bombs and bullets just for me

They're waiting.

They'll crawl along the muddy road

Of IEDs primed to explode

Doom Babies

Sgt. Diaper, standing by, getting orders on the fly

This ragtag bunch will never do 'cos every other word's a 'GOO'

We might be low on expertise and height and weight and counts of teeth..

Faces full of cheer and sin

For Armageddon to begin

They're waiting..

Diapers full of piss and shit

They'll barrel roll through all of it

Doom Babies

Corporal Crapper, standing by, it's time to make the grown ups die

Grab your bottles and your guns and armored onesies for your buns

Beyond this gate the city sleeps so man the battle bigwheel, peeps..

With armament to scare the shit

From anyone who'd f**k with it

They're waiting..

Their drooling mouths are all agape

Their pincer plan cuts off escape

Doom Babies

General Gerber, at the wheel, look alive this shit's for real

Our pilots are too young to fly, that doesn't mean that they can't try

Strollers, planes, and bikes, and troops, and arrows dipped in didy poop..

Love the bass line...but I like all of it. A cool song. Sounds like it's sung with passion and experience.

To me, it sounds like it's sung by someone who needs to hang up a 'SINGER WANTED' flyer at Guitar Center :scared:

I swear that's gotta' be the hardest part of writing any song. Eh, well unless you're Dream Theater maybe.

The Ray 34 was such a good buy, I can't say enough good things about it. It might be low on the 9V battery though, I gotta' change it out soon.
