The worst song on the album, and Geddy's worst album vocals in a long time, perhaps ever.

Yes, Seven Cities of Shit is more like it.

If you're going to change the title to include the word shit, at least have it be Seven Shitties of something.

You're going downhill, man. SpaghettiLee would be disappointed if he were capable of reading above the Kindergarten level.

Started a new poll in Feedback! I thought it would be interesting to see how popular CA is in comparison to each album...

Could be an eye opener for us all!

(Including my moody self)

As far as Geddy's worst vocal part, I think "Good News First" has it beat.

Those are bad, but they are so much quieter and less shrieked that I mind them far less. Also, that song was going to suck no matter what. 7COG could have been quite good, so the vocals do far more damage here.

i would agree that it doesn't hold a candle to Marv Alberts Gall Stone for sure... ;)

Seven cities jumped out at me at first listen. Without overanalyzing the lyrics or Geddy's high vocals, etc...it still makes me want to crank the volume (not on headphones :| ) and enjoy the ride. Nice old school/modern Rush feel...far from "boring" filler like Halo Effect.

BTW, I really like Good News First, but I've always accepted I'm mostly alone in feeling that. :)

It's another filler on this CA album, i just don't get it how people enjoy so much this album. To me it's not a comeback album to their golden years, it's a natural evolution starting from Test for Echo, through the weak VT and average SA.

Five pages on this fuckingg song? WOW!

It's a great poll but I can't figure out the explosion of this thread.

We're in a tour break. People don't know what to do with themselves. :P

I think it's just below the really great songs on CA, so all in all...a great song & if this is filler, then CA is pretty damn good :martini:

Wow I must be way off base here. We are now comparing 7COG to Jacobs Ladder. The dozen or so listens must not have been enough... :eh:

different strokes for different folks--but perhaps you hit your head which caused your mind to stop working in the 70's or very early 80's and it doesn't allow you to enjoy good new music.

not the same by a long shot--they are both very different--but they both cause my imagination to light up.

Fair enough...
