Boring song.

How so?

I'm not sure how to answer that other than it's kind of plodding. The lyrics are uninteresting.

I'm curious as to the lyrical component for you. Maybe ya gotta be a dude to connect with this tune

What makes you say that? I certainly understand the sentiment. I just think it could've been done better.

Boring song.

This^^^. Average song at best. The third worst on the album in my opinion...

What does that mean...what is average? To me, average is like "We hold on" or "The way the wind blows"

Now you're getting it. :)

I don't think anyone here will care a whole lot but I gotta just tune out these CA threads for now. The "Masterpiece" thing is really just to much for me. Don't even feel like discussing it anymore at this point. No hard feelings. Enjoy folks and have a good one... :hi:

Those are average for your average shitty band. Way below average for the group that created Hemispheres.

Well, in what way would you have constructed the song? It sounds like nothing in their entire catalog.

Exactly. Not even in the same galaxy.

Couple things I dig about the tune:

1. mean funk smokin' bass at the start

2. repeating lyric with slight changes: lose his past, lose his way, lose himself

3. the soaring vocal in "wandering aimless, parched and nameless" - it's not the wicked tuneful screeching of old, but it is so uniquely Lee that it makes my heart glad

4. like some of the best Rush tunes, it is evocative - love that

We'll be gentle. I just wanna understand the mind that says this song is "average" along the lines of SA material.

You're right and that's not a good thing. I'm not going to answer your question about how I would do it because that's just opening me up to be beaten over the head. I'm not going to go there.

I was referrring to WHO and TWTWB. 7COG is a good, above average Rush song (that would have been slightly below average for the 2112-p/g era.

Is the bass to simplistic for you? The guitar too passive? Drums unadventurous? Vocals lacking passion?

It's heavy and hits you like a ton of bricks...which I like. Does it have the lasting effect of the title track, The Anarchist, or Headlong Flight? Probably not, but I dig it. Edited by A rocket that ignites itself

The album is worse than Snakes & Arrows. At least it has some intelligent lyrics and decent singing. CA is at its best juvenilistic and nescient. It was mixed so loud and the instrument frequencies so overlapping that it sounds like white noise. Does that help? :D

That's kind of giving emotional feelings to the music but that's not what I'm talking about. It's more technical.

Not a big fan of this one. Sounds like the music was left over from SnA and they used new lyrics to me.

So you're this kind of fan
