Great tune. Old school riff. I would never compare it to Xanadu, but it is similarly riff driven in some ways, and is about a voyage. I love the voyage tunes. Trying to find the meaning of life or get your nerves fuckedup in a black hole, whatever. Great stuff.

"Seven Cities Of Gold"

A man can lose his past, in a country like this

Wandering aimless

Parched and nameless

A Man could lose his way, in a country like this

Canyons and cactus

Endless and trackless

Searching through a grim eternity

Sculptured by a prehistoric sea

Seven Cities of Gold

Stories that fired my imagination

Seven Cities of Gold

A splendid mirage in this desolation

Seven Cities of Gold

Glowing in my dreams, like hallucinations

Glitter in the sun like a revelation

Distant as a comet or a constellation

A man can lose himself, in a country like this

Rewrite the story

Recapture the glory

A man could lose his life, in a country like this

Sunblind and friendless

Frozen and endless

And the nights grow longer, the farther I go

Wake to aching cold, and a deep Sahara of snow

Seven Cities of Gold

Stories that fired my imagination

Seven Cities of Gold

A splendid mirage in this desolation

Seven Cities of Gold

Glowing in my dreams, like hallucinations

Glitter in the sun like a revelation

Distant as a comet or a constellation

That gleam in the distance could be heaven's gate

A long-awaited treasure at the end of my cruel fate

Seven Cities of Gold

Stories that fired my imagination

Seven Cities of Gold

A splendid mirage in this desolation

Seven Cities of Gold

Glowing in my dreams, like hallucinations

Glitter in the sun like a revelation

Distant as a comet or a constellation

Love this song. One of my favorites off of CA. Full of sweeping grandeur for me. Very hook-o-centric. Reminds me heavily of their seventies output.

Right on. It is sublime, wicked awesome!

Boring song.

This^^^. Average song at best. The third worst on the album in my opinion...

Boring song.

How so?

I'm not sure how to answer that other than it's kind of plodding. The lyrics are uninteresting.

You're right it's not Xanadu, it's Seven Cities of Gold. It's own universe. An impressive aspect of this tune are the guitar soundscapes...very "out there".

Not a mini epic, but good song. Not in the higher tier of stuff off the high tier album that is CA, but it's good. Ged's vocals are fine on the studio, but I cringe at the version on the CA Tour. This one's not an easy one to sing.

Doesn't remind me of anything else.

Damn I love that groove from the main riff :haz:

Average is a good description. They could've done so much better.

Great song, in line with the greatness of the entire album.

Sorry, synth lovers, this one kicks ass.

What does that mean...what is average? To me, average is like "We hold on" or "The way the wind blows"
