Segue Myles
Sting always makes me think that, had he not been a musician, he could instead have been a murderous barber. Just a vibe I get... :laughing yellow guy: "Shave and a haircut, two bits!"...hahahaha... Ah, Segue- you just brought back a very precious memory for me. (And no, it doesn't have anything to do with Sting, actually). Bravo! What was the name of that Angela Lansbury musical? Mick?Murder She Wrote?... I actually laughed my head off hahahahahaha I imagine you sometimes as this ex-member of a cult who only recently came back to the surface after years and years...Aww so funny!
Lorraine
Aside from the fact that most of you despise The Police, do you honestly think Rush is more talented? Don't you think that The Police is at least as talented? Longevity has nothing to do with the answer. The only reason why most bands don't last as long as Rush with their original members has to do with too many egos getting in the way. I should have included another option in the polls. I am going to edit them. :)

Then talent has little to do with how popular a band becomes it seems. The Police were a lot more popular than Rush for the time that they lasted as a band. I guess having Sting as a lead singer didn't hurt. :laughing guy: Edited May 20, 2015 by Lorraine

Narps
I'll probably get run off the forum for good for this one but anyway.... The Police is one of the many bands I loved in the early eighties, and one of the reasons why I never paid much attention to Rush. So, I had to answer honestly. Back then, for me (and I emphasize for me), Rush couldn't compete for very long up against other bands. You still here?... :codger: ;)

They were catchy, they were different and they came around at the right time. (MTV)
