No Europe Tour?

Recommended Posts

I've been saying this since January...

LA is the last show.

Being from Europe as well I'm sooooo hoping it's not. But just to be on the safe side I'm catching a couple of shows while I can soon... Woohoo :7up: I've been saving since my last CA shows in 2013 to make sure I can see them on this tour.

I have a hunch when they do their large theatre "runs" London may be one of them. My hunch is they will want to play Europe one last time

Now that would be really cool and the fact that Geddy loves London.... it's got to be a win/win ;)

If that happens...and right now everything is a big IF...it likely wouldn't be for at least 3-5 years...once Neil starts getting bored...

based on setlist, films before each set, etc., I have been resigned to the fact that Rush will not tour in Europe.

:o

I don't understand. How does the setlist dictate where they're gonna play??

Huge IF

and in 5 years, age makes it questionable

to run 5 dates a year in one city seems no biggie, BUT, its the lengthy rehearsals that are the issue

we have tons of Billy Joel fans (I'm from his home "Island") and they love pointing out how he still plays and sells out. Rush can't go to the bar, decide to play a gig and do it, they have to extensively rehearse. Billy Joel, Paul McCartney fans (Paul with his young band!)...they just don't get it.

feels alot like the end. :(

If the residencies, runs, whatever we'll call them actually are a thing that comes to fruition, I'd imagine the production would get scaled way back and the length of the show will be shortened. Doesn't change that they will need sufficient rehearsal time (especially Neil who sounds least likely to pick up his instrument very frequently once this ends).

...and I'm not sure how bored Neil will become, with a daughter to raise.

I hope he will live to see her become an adult, get married...those kinds of things that his first daughter missed.

And I'm soooo glad I'm able to see them on this tour!

Which show(s) are you catching?

Dallas - Houston - NO & first YYZ :)

That'll be an awesome run!! Unlikely...but trying to figure if I can make it up to YYZ.

I bet they swing through Europe.

Too soon to say they won't... like the Clockwork Angels tour, they may want to see how this goes before committing to a Euro leg.

Think about how bad it would suck if they announced one, then just couldn't do it.

Min 17:08.

Geddy talks about new tour (R40). "Probably next spring, and probably do the world tour".

I think that they will do and European leg. And I really hope that!

US tour is just the warm-up for Europe

Welcome to TRF
