To me, if this is really the last tour, I'm a bit dissapointed in the 1st set list. Nothing against the last couple of albums, but IMO they are pretty heavy on CA stuff at the expense of a lot of classics.... How do you leave out songs like Limelight, Freewill, Red Sector A, Dreamline etc on your farewell tour?

They can't play everything. Those songs were all played last tour, and tours before that as well. This is only the second tour CA songs have been played.

Also. As a new poster, my understanding this is a spoiler forum so mentioning specific songs is OK... Apologies if that is against the etiquette....

Yeah, you're good. Just make sure that if you create a new thread in this forum not to mention a song in the thread title. ;)

CA is a modern masterpiece and the bands best effort since Moving Picture. Yes its better than Signals and that's the album I hold most dear to my heart since its when I as a keyboardist/ Music Teacher discovered RUSH. Yet I know that CA is as good if not better than the 8 songs represented on Signals. Regardless, only three songs from the album, their much heavier songs is a great way to start the concert. When Those first power chords in CA hit the airwaves from Alex, you know that RUSH is back and kicking serious @ss. As for the The Anarchist and Headlong Flight it would be a crime not to have them in the set. They are the best thing written since Red Barchetta and Limelight. So yes in conclusion, three songs from Ca to start the show is perfectly fine and justified. I'm actually surprised there weren't more!

I just think now listening again.......and this just my view. Ditch CA....the song. Keep the anarchist and HF......cause by the time HF rolls out in this order.......i'm just o....k.....i'm done, lol You don't need a 3 song CA block, IMO.

G: A lot of fans are bitching about us having any inclusion of CA material into the upcoming tour. Should we really include something from it?

A: (effeminate tone) Well, honestly, it is the weakest and biggest detractor to our entire catalog. I still am really pissed about my performance there. I took a left, creatively, when I really should've gone right. And the fat fingers didn't help. Phuck me.

G: That's alright. I have to admit that I cringe when I hear myself sing. Wish I never visited the damned Alps before recording it. Really nothing u can do about it now. Plus, fans are enigmatically delighted you're producing some kind of new noise out of those weak speakers.

N: Damn it, thats enough u guys!! It was a real bitch for me to put that chit album on paper. Do u know how many times I wrecked my keyboard like that German gamer boy did on youtube?? I came close dangerously close to riding the GS off the end of the Santa Monica pier. We have to include a song or two from it since there are a minority of fans that actually like it. Also it would be unfair to our TRF posters that have managed to actually convince many that CA is a masterpiece. Lmfao!! "Perception is reality" is my motto, Ha Ha! Plus, I make the rules around here so get out, eh.

I think CA is a fine late career album, but i just cant compare it to anything during their prime years, from 75-85. Better than Signals?..

Yeah I really dig CA but I can't go there.

I can...easily better than that album. Signals is a good album. Important to many people. Great songs are there, and I listen to it. My ten year old enjoys it. He likes the song about the "fridges of the city".

It's a short album compared to the epic Clockwork Angels. Songwriting is certainly not as strong as CA, but contains powerful moments. An uneven production to say the least.

CA has zero skippable tracks IMO. A pleasure the whole way through. Signals, not so much because of the dark nature of the sound.

There's the key to the greatness of CA. ALL the songs are very good to (qouting LABT here) transcendant.

66 minutes of that is just mindblowing. We haven't even talked Caravan, BU2B, the Garden, Wreckers, and don't wince, Seven Cities of Gold (another mini epic).

I know I'm not the official rep for the album, but if they go down I'm picking up the guide-on!

I don't prefer CA to Signals. I do prefer it to any of their first six albums aside from CoS. And it comes awfully close to beating the seventh. It's an amazing album with over an hour of consistently great (yet diverse) music and excellent, engaging lyrics. Monstrously powerful rockers; catchy, hook-laden tracks; beautiful, poignant numbers... CA has it all.

I said in another thread that CA is their LATEST release...I'm sure they are proud of the tunes, and love playing them...So it makes sense that they decided to include a few more than some of us hard core fans want to hear....it's a HISTORY of the band...granted, they skip over a few albums...but two of them were over played on the last tour, and I think the others may just not be in their favorites catalog....hard to say...

In my opinion, if they keep that second set mostly in tact, I think most people will forgive what they neglect in the first set....

Jacob's Ladder and Xanadu, to me, are the BIG killer tunes in that second set! If they change anything else I won't be THAT disappointed, but I need to see those two tunes live and intact!

I think its a very good album. Its not amazing quite honestly. I have trouble deciphering the differences in songs mainly due to the titles. I mean The Wreckers? The Anarchist? They could switch the song titles and it wouldnt matter. I also the think the concept is wanting. I mean what is the concept. The steampunk world? I have absolutely zero interest in that. Some people are turned off by the sound of it. I think the sound is fine. The mix doesnt bother me nor does the mastering. Wish Them Well is a throwaway. BU2B2 should be more of an interlude to the Garden. Instead its just kind of there not really doing anything.

So a solid 8/10 from me. Stlli very good but no PeW MP or Signals. Better rhan RTB. Equal to Counterparts.

The other thing is that I actually LOVE the Anarchist and Headlong Flight...so those two can stay as far as I'm concerned...I'm a little disappointed that more Snakes and Arrows wasn't represented (Armor and Sword for instance) VT Secret Touch and Earthshine would have worked, and for Test for Echo, I think Driven would be a GREAT representative!

Moving backwards, I'm not overly disappointed that Presto HyF, and PW were neglected...Presto doesn't have anything (IMHO) that really stands out as a "classic" and the other two were pretty much nailed on the last tour. Good call as far as I'm concerned!

GuP was a good album, and DEW is a good rep for that one...and Signals had a few on the last tour since that was an "anniversary" of sorts (although I really wished that they would have taken the opportunity to play Losing It since they had strings!)

I just called my buddy Taylor Swift and asked her to send a message to all the whiners bagging on the C.A. material.

Here's her response to them...

Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.....

Actually I find CAs length is part of its problem. By having all that time to ramble.. they rambled in medicore mid temp songs more than they should have. It's all opinion, of course, but Singals is a stronger effort with more memorable riffs and moments, which is why crowd reaction will always be stronger for it than anything on CA.

I have no problem have 3 Clockwork songs in the set list, plus I haven't see Rush live since 1988 apart from the Live CD's and DVD's so I'm excited to finally hear Songs from CA to Presto Live in person and the rest of the songs is a big bonus for me! :D
