Anybody remember the assclown who actually posted that he had to calm his child in the parking lot because of how lame the setlist was last tour?

Who was that character?

Assclown is a fitting description of that douchebag.

You do recall that right? I'm not making this stuff up.

Yeah, I remember him.

we should start a thread, based on that post alone. Gawd awful

Im happy. Id not want to listen to more than 2 CA songs, but could live with them. The rumored setlist is so full of chubby-causing Rushy goodness that there's nothing but f-cking elation in my heart for this show. And bittersweet greedy feelings that it may be the last one.

Going out in style, Im sure..

See that's where I am. CygnusX1 is going to be played. JL is going to be played. TCE is going to be played.

JL+TCE=http://www.gifbin.com/bin/1238157980_scanners_-_head_explosion.gif

I never tire of that. Patrick McGoohan was cerebrally entertaining as always

For the first 10 seconds, I was like "meh". As I kept reading, I became more excited. I start thinking, " what more could I expect?"

I don't get some of these people. I mean, there are "deep cuts" and then there are "amputations".

Peeps on both sides of the setlist debate gotta chill a bit until Friday at earliest and really Sunday TBH.

As somebody astutely pointed out earlier there are many songs on the list we've seen that are similar lengths so they could easily be rotated.

There's no guarantee anybody will see JL and TCE on the same night (or any other combinations of songs you can think of)

By this time Friday night the first show will be wrapping up and we'll be able to have a much better feel for where the band is taking this tour.

Great point. Especially those longer songs... they may rotate them so each audience gets x amount of "old proggy goodness" :) Works for me.

Or "crap, they aren't playing (insert songs) at the Newark show so I will contemplate getting a ticket to the Philly or MSG show where they will be playing those songs."

I was mildly optimistic for Cut to the Chase. I was really optimistic for Xanadu. But other than that the list that's out is ok with me.

It's LIVE RUSH?!?!?!

The only thing that would overly upset me is if they stuck to Power Windows, Hold Your Fire, Presto and Roll the Bones songs!

Other than that I'm fine with it!

The only thing that's going to make everyone happy is if they did what Cheap Trick did a few years back and just do a night with each album as a set list! (I think Barenaked ladies did that once, as well)

This is basically the setlist I've expected...MAYBE there's room for a total surprise, but this looks about right.

Expected more of songs not played last ten years, especially considering what was mentioned by the band.

This leaked list is a repeat of R30, SnA, TMT and CA tours, except for two songs. And if JL is rotated out, they clearly have lost their magic touch. Let alone that rumored abrupt end to prelude into far cry. Xanaconductor all over again. Bad decision after bad decision.

Not tough to figure out.

edit....

not saying I dislike xanadu or superconductor. Just to cut them off, not give the fans to relish a classic, to me ruins the experience.

Also to rotate JL after never playing it, so they can play another same song year in year out. Makes retirement easier to accept.

TCE is awesome, but THEY JUST PLAYED IT TWO TOURS AGO. sorry for the cap lock. ;)

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Hmmm that kind of political rhetoric belongs in SOCN not here.

I am way overtired today so if there is supposed to be humor in your comment I'm simply missing it.

However, my moment of snark had no intentional political under (or over) tones to it whatsoever.

For theses who like me, are excited and grateful for a new :rush: Tour..... enjoy and have fun cos it is the last time we see our boys in action! :7up:

And for those who are so anal about everything RUSH does or do whether it's the Set-List, Stage and what not, stay home and watch old DVD/VHS or Bootleg Audio. :bitchslap:

Going to the last Rush Tour should be fun and being grateful and not worrying what YOU want to hear, last time I checked it's a Concert with a lot of Rush and casual Fans. They have to play for everyone whether it's there first time or there 100th time. Some songs they have to play because it's popular for those who attending the Concert for the 1st time or enjoying hearing it for the 50th time. As for the Set-list I think it will be 50/50 of what Fans want to hear for the last time and throw in a couple of deep cuts for the die-hard fans, but one has to remember like a race where you have to pace yourself etc... so with Ged's voice and Neil's arms, I'm sure they're picking songs that won't do damage to either of them for the 2 plus hours they'll play on this Tour and pacing themselves through out the show, So some song will make the cut for one reason or another and some won't due to there reason not to play any more.

So what I'm getting at is don't sweat the small stuff just go to the Concert and enjoy for what it is, because it's the last time you'll see and hear :rush:

As someone who is flying from Australia to see the only Rush concert I have ever and will ever see, I cannot convey enough my complete and utter lack of sympathy for anyone whining about the appalling tragedy of having to sit through a Rush gig that doesn't have a setlist personally chosen by said whiner.

Boo-hoo - you've seen the band play Tom Sawyer 12 times over all the years you've been lucky enough to see them. My heart bleeds with the injustice of it all.
