toymaker
Yeah, wouldn't it make sense the other way around - the last chord of Far Cry launching Hemispheres?
LocalsBandGuy
Ugh. I do not like Far Cry. BUT the only tour I missed since GUP was CP, so Prelude will be awesome!

mrfriendly
apparently the main reason they even played hemispheres back for counterparts tour was because the guys in primus convinced them to, so we'll see since this is ideally supposed to be a retrospective 40 year show; then again the rumours we've had so far for rehearsed songs are anarchist and clockwork angles, lol and now far cry. if you were going to start a rumour about a rehearsal it would be random to pick these two so i guess there could be some truth to this, time will tell. EagleMoon
If true, it would be cool. Farcry has that "Hemispheres" chord at the end of the "intro" to the song. That would be a great spot to transiltion. I would agree. Makes perfect sense.
Super25Smasher
I know a guy who has a friend who works for this lady's mom who eats a diner where this dude eats who knows this other dude who shopped at the same place that his buddy's cousin used to work at that has it on good record that, oh never mind. Why once I met this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy's cousin... - Spongebob Squarepants Edited April 15, 2015 by Super25Smasher
krlowe
What I think would be cool is to use a pitch shifter (not auto tune) to double his voice an octave in a few, very very occasional spots. He could sing the "struggle" part one octave lower but a present octave would be above him. NOT a track, not auto tune, but a pitch shifter if used right could work. It also could make him sound like he's on helium though..... On the CP tour bootleg, he used a "chorus" like effect on "every soul a battlefield" and that was cool. So maybe some chorus and a light pitch shifter would help. Just a thought. Far Cry is cool, and I think that would be a great transition. So exciting! Del_Duio
If that's true, that'd a great transition Makes loads of sense to me. Might be more OH SHIT!!! inducing if it were the other way around though.

When they did Far Cry they remarked that they used 'the Hemispheres chord'.
HemiBeers
Anyone else expecting a Bastille Day instrumental introduction into Headlong Flight? I think a Bastille/Headlong flight mashup would be awesome...but maybe too adventurous for them at this point. Oh hell, throw some riffs from What Your Doing in there as well...it's all in the key of E. Hmm Definately guitar night for me tonight...I got riffs going through my head. :haz: Edited April 15, 2015 by 2112FirstStreet

GabesCavesOfIce
They have played Far Cry and Natural Science a bunch last 10 years. NS would be awesome, but Far Cry again? Its good, but there is so much material, from all decades, that they have not touched ever or in eons. If Far Cry follows immediately after Prelude, ala Xanaconductor, as the "leak" suggests, that would be BRUTAL. To not be able to reflect nor enjoy the waning moments/ afterimage/ reflection upon such a rare live performance of such an epic would be of major disappointment. Also, if they can bang right into Far Cry...I thought their 70s stuff is very difficult to pull off, wouldnt they need a moment to chill? Far Cry first, that would have some merit, but why, why again?? Is it that much better than the other 200 songs never played live ;)
mrfriendly
One thing I'm curious about, the rumour a while back which I am 100% convinced is right is that neil won't have the back electronic setup and that apparently for the second set they will go back to the slingerland chrome kit he used to play and finish like a bar band. this had me thinking that the second set will be a lot of the 70s stuff giving the hardcore fans what they want. that would seem to dispel these ideas about doing mashups between old/new songs ie. hemispheres/far cry; or headlong flight/bastille. but the rumour may have meant he will finish with the old kit for the encore? i am not sure if it is for the entire second set or just the encore. if that is the case, what songs do you think he would want to play for the encore with that kit? some of the more progressive 70s stuff certainly does not seem like encore material, lol. rocket ignites
Since there isn't any material to play in support of a new album, to go with the thought that they are leaning toward alternating some songs...a song like Far Cry (lone S&A song) should fit the set. So it's really for visual effect only.
mrfriendly
yeah i know what you mean the main kit, but the rumour was that in the second set (or possibly just the encore?) they are going to bring out is old slingerland kit from the 70s the play with.

Even at the Snakes show I found good use for my ass doubling as hand warmers for quite a while till they got to the good stuff. I wouldn't have ever considered not going if I had known the setlist ahead of time however... Edited April 15, 2015 by Narpsberg
