Coffee lovers- what do you like? And where do you buy it?

Love coffee. I was drinking Sanka with my grandfather every morning when I was four years old. My mother got in a tizzy about it, but the doctor told her not to worry.

In high school, I became a tea drinker. When I started working, I switched to coffee with milk. When I went into my first rehab in 1981, I became an avid black coffee drinker and have remained one to this day.

My favorite coffee ever I used to buy from a NYC street vendor. I worked on Hanover Square andm on my way there from the WTC, I used to stop and buy it. He sold his coffee by the pound as well.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy what would be my favorite coffee out here. It is almost ten dollars a pound. Sometimes it goes on sale around the holiday for six or seven dollars. I get it then. The stronger the bean, the better I like it.

Another dark roast lover.

What is the coffee that you referred to as your favorite, where you are now?

Whatever Espresso bean they have. They used to sell Millstone coffee beans. Got rid of that, and now they sell Seattle's Best Coffee.

As for stuff in the can, they don't sell my favorite out here - that would be Chock Full o' Nuts - so I have to make do with awful coffee. Believe it or not, the cheap stuff is better than the expensive coffee in a can.

The other one I really loved was a Spanish brand - Migliadora or something like that. They used to sell it out here, but the folks out here just don't know what is good, so they discontinued selling it due to lack of interest. They couldn't stock it just for me.

I love coffee. Been drinking it since I was 8. I like my coffee strong. At home I like to drink this.

Very nice, full flavor, without being god awful expensive.

We have a coffee bar at work. I usually get a double shot of espresso added to my cup of french roast with half and half. No sugar and no flavored coffee.

I also like the Cafe Latte from Starbucks, with a couple of extra shots of espresso. That's just delicious.

Im not picky, but I drink my coffee black. Strong, and dark, I think at home I have some kind of french roast at the moment. There is a roaster in town Ill get whole bean coffee from time to time. I use only a french press, there is a small pot that is on my stove 24/7 to boil water, its a gas range so it really doesnt take much longer than a normal coffee machine.

I like drinking coffee cold in the hotter months- I just brew it in the french press, wait for it to get room temp, and pour it over ice. Even when I want hot coffee, I dont like it real hot, I have to be able to "gulp" it down

That reminds me.

Nothing like the old percolated coffee. I don't even know if they still make percolators. Farberware used to.

And that reminds me of one of my favorite Joni Mitchell songs, called The Last Time I Saw Richard. It has a line that goes:

Richard got married to a figure skater

And he bought her a dishwasher

And a coffee percolator

...except that when she sings that word, it sounds like she's saying 'perculator'.

That song was recorded in 1971. A different time and place, indeed.

If you can ever find one in a second hand shop, or on the internet, get one. The aroma alone of coffee percolating is divine.

I'm kind of a Mountain Dewaholic but I do love my Starbucks now and then. I can't drink coffee too often because it gives me bad reflux. The iced stuff not as much. It's a bit more watered down I guess.

My Dad drinks coffee all day. I swear his taste buds are dead. He drinks this crap from Aldi and says it's as good as DD or Starbucks coffee.

I said that I haven't given Starbucks any of my money since the '90s, but I buy the Frappucino, bottled, from the grocery store. So I'm still good- I'm not giving it to Starbucks, I'm giving it to Kroger!

But yeah, those things are ridiculously good.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a coffee with a kick??

I am on the road often, I drink Dunkin' Starbucks, and alot of local shops in various states, but nothing picks me up.

Wakes me up per say. The caffeine does little to me. I was wondering if someone knows a brand, a technique, a method to get that boost.

At home about half the time working, and make my own. Open to flavors, styles anything. Love coffee, but my 2-3 cups don't do much for me.

And NO I'm not talking booze, looking for any legit methods- Booze is a rarity for me now.

Try a "red eye." It's drip coffee with a shot of espresso. I like the stronger taste the espresso gives to the coffee too. I order this when I drink hot coffee.

Same here which is why I almost always order shots over ice. I need to get the caffeine into my system the quickest way possible and until someone invents injectable coffee, I am forced to stick to iced coffee. Even in the dead of winter. Iced.

I have to good fortune of being friends with a master roaster. I actually hang out around the roaster with him on thursday mornings before heading to the office, and occasionally will eat a bean or two. The smell sticks to you all day.

However when it comes to coffee, my favorite is DD's. They've got it figured out. And with a glazed donut, you need no sugar with your coffee.

At home I enjoy coffee, Appalachian Morning it's called. A mixture made by the roaster. I enjoy spiced chai as much as coffee
