Alien Shore, Cut To The Chase, Double Agent, Sun and Moon, Stick it Out, what great songs that harken back to the 70s on CP. Never understood why it seems CP is not as popular as it should be with the fan base, or why the band keeps picking Animate or Nobody's Hero from this album to play live? Anybody?

I wouldn't mind if they did 3 songs tops. anything more is too much. I'd like to hear Between Sun and Moon, LTTA, and Cold Fire.

Cut to the Chase is the only one I particularly want to hear from this album because it's a very good song that's never been done live before. Everything else from it I'll take or leave live. Don't get me wrong, I think as a whole Counterparts a strong album but that's more because of its constancy than any particular songs standing up as really great by themselves. For me, Presto is the pretty much the opposite with some really amazing songs like The Pass and Available Light but also some real clunkers such as Anagram and Superconductor. Edited by Drummerrobin

Even in a thread about Counterparts, my beloved Superconductor gets bashed. Really?!

It sucks. And I only can say that about a handful of Rush songs.

That is one of them.

I've just listened to this for the first time a few nights ago, and I'm not sure what to feel about it. Unlike Roll The Bones, all the tracks do seem to leave their own mark and the record is nicely heavy, but much of it just seems to be somewhere between good and great, but not much more. I feel like I should like it a ton, but it hasn't moved me very much.

Then again, I felt the same way about Hemispheres on first listen and it ended up growing on me a lot.

As for the question, I think I'd like to hear "Nobody's Hero" (this one DID move me) or one of the first three.

Ignore the production and listen to the songs. No wait, if you do that you won't ever want to hear most of them again.

Still better than most of CP.

CP has got to be the goofiest Record they ever recorded. I don't mean goofy as in oh that rush so much fun......i mean goofy as in just STOP, lol. Nobody's Hero, Speed of Love, Alien Shore, Double Agent, Cold Fire. Awful.
