Speed Of Love: Why No Love (

One of the best Rush songs in my opinion, but I see even massive fans of Counterparts disregard this beautiful piece with predictable and gleeful derision.

So why does this song stick out like a sore thumb, or even fade into the background like a vulnerable, bullied little girl? Come on guys! Give it a chance!

Or simply explain why you love, like, loathe or hate this song...

(Sorry Lorraine...I want to hear peoples comments on this gem).

It took me until this year to finally enjoy this song. I never cared for it all. Perhaps it's the lyrical content that opened up my mind.

The lyrics of "Everyday Glory" also inspired me. Maybe it's because I am going through a hard time with my woman.

Usually I just listen to the music being a drummer. Musically "Speed Of Love" is weak. JMO

Speed of love still sucks, BTW.

No, your critical discernment just sucks ;)

And Speed of Love was crafted for the 200+ IQ segment of the population. It's over most of our heads. We can't comprehend it's brilliance. We're not worthy.

Yeah, savage, because your IQ is 200, right? in all fairness, The Speed of Love has interesting lyrics…but the music is kind of boring and I cringe during the chorus. "At the speed of love…" Yuck.

Uh...not at all....I despise the Speed of Love.

But it's pretty obvious that my IQ is higher than yours since you can't even infer that I dislike the song, which I've said just about everywhere.

Speed Of Love is a great example of why going basic often works.

Love the song.

Dammit....this sounded better to me for some reason...why?

....

I was rockin' to it a little

....

:haz:

...

I'm playing it again

...

f*ck

......

:outtahere:

So, what happened?

was it a passing fancy?

Or did you finally discover the awesomenicity of the song??

I just hadn't listened to any music in a week so anything would've sounded decent.

My Beagle's face after Speed of Love

Mick

He just listening intently and pondering the sheer awesomeness of the tune.

Is that really your dog? He's cute.

What Rush mix CD would you make if you wanted to torture yourself?

Hand Over Fist

Neurotica

Tai Shan

Roll the Bones

Chain Lightning

Big Wheel

You Bet Your Life

The _______ of _______

Geddy's live "Rasta dude" verse of Working Man

There are others I would add, but I'm probably already going to catch hell because of some of the ones I've mentioned

But Peart won 'most promising new drummer' in 1980.
