I think you will find the rest of the world disagreeing with you. That is not a pizza that is a pie. This is a proper pizza!

You'll get no argument from this New Yorker. Nothing wrong with a nice Chicago pizza once in a while, but thin crust is the real deal pizza.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Thin crust pizza can be delicious, but to me, nothing tops a deep dish pie from Ginos East. :drool:

Have you ever had real deep dish pizza? You get filled up more on cheese than you do bread.

A pizza with good , fresh, homemade (full fat, none of that part-skim garbage) mozzarella and maybe another quality cheese, is the best. I love plain cheese pizza but it has to be really good cheese, not cheap mass-produced crap off the Sysco truck.

 

Yeah, the cheese is the absolute best part for me, and when we're talking high-quality mozzarella, there are few foods I enjoy more than a straightforward cheese pizza. And the consequences of using some subpar substance in place of good mozzarella can definitely be disastrous.

Absolutely-nothing screws up a pizza worse than bad ingredients. I do a lot of pizza from scratch, switching from thin to Chicago to Detroit style Sicilian (my fave), and there's one constant-Boar's Head Mozzarella. It's a whole milk cheese, as opposed to part skim milk that a lot of Mozz's are, and the richness of the cheese makes all the difference.

A carnival or state/county fair, some place that specializes in deep-fried food, or the supermarket freezer section! Some Trader Joe's have veggie corn dogs :)
