WITCH HUNT: Which TRF Member Is Next At The Stake?

I think it obvious by now that Zumbi doesn't find this sort of criticism funny, he has spoken up about feeling hurt, and all the polls have led to some fun debate and discussion so why all the rudeness?

I really think its a form of bullying, I don't mind being mocked but time and time again Zumbi has made it clearhe has been offended, and to be truly honest he comes across as a lovely guy and a spirited fan.

We tried to be nice to Zumbi and answer his questions, and we told him exactly why people were making fun of him and that he should stop that. He didn't care and thought everyone else was wrong, so as far as I am concerned he's brought this upon himself.

Well...one cannot argue with this...

Sure one can. On can argue anything. But is one right? Or maybe the other one is?

Anyway, I am down with the occasional heated argument... but not too much down with picking on people (mostly because I left middle school a long, long, LONG time ago).

You & me both!

I also don't understand the thing where people call their friends names and make fun of them. Sure, I might occasionally give a friend a hard time about something, all in fun, but I"m talking about those who seem to always talk sh*t about those who are supposedly their friends. Why? I like saying nice things about people I like.

Here's the thing about my friends (the ones in the real world, not the cyber world).... they know I am opinionated. But the key there is "opinionated"... opinion... really, that's all any of this is. Sure, some of us can back our opinions up with more fact, more history, more life experience (translation: us older ones are smarter than those youngins!), but in the end, it's really just opinion.

For what it's worth... I actually very much so enjoy people... and really enjoy people who love Rush. So, big picture, I like everyone here.... even Spaghetti Lee... hopefully they like me, too. But if not.... ummmm.... yeah.... I will lose (counting, formulating... now computing) zero sleep. It's a fan forum, people!

That said, if I am ever a jerk... call me out on it.... trust me... I am good with it.

A Texan can't be all bad.... ;)

God Bless Texas... not our politics, because that is a mess.... but the rest of the state if pretty freaking awesome. The music scene is top notch. The hiking and biking scene is that much better. Pay me a visit in SA, but give me 72 hours to get you out to Big Bend for a hike and a bike.... you won't regret it.

All my relatives are from there including my parents. I have been there many, many times. My parents currently live in Lufkin and my Uncle in Austin. I will be headed down to Lufkin again probably in mid to late October. I really enjoy Texas. I saw quite a few baseball games in the Astrodome way back in the day when my grandparents lived in Houston....

I grew up in the Hill Country about 50 miles NW of Austin.

I thought this used to be a Rush board? I don't visit near as often as I used to, but the board really has gone to shit by attention whores and drama queens.....and most of them haven't been a member for more than a year or two. I think the mods really need to step up and take the bull by the horns but that's just me...

Plus, is there any way we can disable the poll option just for a little while....jeez.

Well...we could talk about how Neil is an ungrateful a##hole or how cute Geddy's butt is or maybe start another song poll thread featuring two songs at a time.....oh wait....nevermind.

I nominate... whoever Lorraine was talking about when she said someone didn't like Xanadu.

Speaking of Lorraine and Xanadu...I have to give credit where credit is due.

Sunday I was running a half-marathon when, about mile nine, I hit a wall. It was near the top of a long hill, and I was trying to fight my way through it...yelling every curse word I could think of. Just as I was running out of expletives, Lorraine's calm voice came to me, first as a distant whisper, then growing louder: Xanadu... Xanadu... Xanadu

Clicked the I-shuffle to Xanadu, then magically kicked it into high gear. RUSH took me home the final four miles. Witness, the wisdom of Lorraine and the power of :rush: .

I lived in the Dallas area for about ayear and a half.

NIce folks, but I did meet some stereotypical Texans as well.

Um, yeah.... "Dallas"... lots of stereotypes up there. They are everywhere, but really more common in the Metroplex.

Here's how I explain Texas stereotypes to "foreigners"... Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio are all cousins.

Dallas and Houston are the two cousins who are always competing to be the "top dogs". They have jobs in the energy and banking industry, buy fancy toys, live in a really big suburban house, and only drink wine that costs at least $85 a bottle. They always have the latest, greatest... and biggest... Android cell phone and drive a BMW or Lexus. Austin and San Antonio like these two cousins as they are a lot of fun to visit and they always make sure you have a good time at some pretty cool, expensive places... but really, they are a bit much sometimes and can only be handled in small doses.

Austin is the young, trendy cousin. Austin works in the tech industry, only carries an iPhone (the newest, of course), lives in a loft near Town Lake, drinks whatever hipster beer is trendy at the time, and drives a Mini Cooper. Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio like this cousin, as well. This cousin will always show you a good time, but can be a bit insufferable about music and pretty much everything in certain moods. Austin is quite handy in that it knows how to fix any problem in your computer... but doesn't know how to change a spare.

San Antonio is the free spirit, and sometimes free loader, cousin. San Antonio doesn't really have a career, but seems to hold down a job enough to have a roof over their head. That roof is a small Texas colonial near downtown with a crooked porch and needs to be painted. San Antonio uses Austin's old hand me down iPhones, drinks Shiner or Lone Star depending upon what is on sale, and drives an old extended cab pick up that still has a "San Antonio Spurs 2003 NBA Champions" bumper sticker because San Antonio is too lazy to update the sticker. Dallas, Houston, and Austin often make fun of San Antonio - sometimes for good reason - but deep down, they actually wish they could be a little more like San Antonio. There's freedom in not worrying so much.

Yeah, I admit these are very general stereotypes... but anyone who has spent a lot of time in Texas is probably nodding their heads. The good news, though, is Texas is loaded with Rush fans. I meet them all the time.

Frankly, I'm disgusted by the way people are singled out and bullied in this place. It's a forum. Yes, people will post things you don't like. Learn to GET OVER IT. (YY)Zumbi may be annoying sometimes but you shouldn't be responding like this. It's not fair. Not that you'd listen to me anyway, but I felt I needed to get a point across.

Anyway, I just wanted to bring up the issue because I've been in other online communities that turned into the occasional blood sacrifice when things got really heated. Happens in most of them, I guess.
