Hold Your Fire - for a plethora of sentimental reasons.

HYF is my guilty favorite, also for sentimental reasons.

However, Moving Pictures was my actual favorite all day last Saturday because I heard The Camera Eye for the first time again in a while. I guess it's still my favorite until my next one. :pokercards:

A Farewell to Kings will definitely be my all-time favorite. It's just too good.

Update Time!

1. A Farewell To Kings (pure magic)

2. Permanent Waves (fresh and new every time)

2.5. Moving Pictures (one of rock's best albums, perfect blend of synth and guitar)

2.75. Signals (also fresh and new like PeW, but some songs don't quite stand up to those on higher albums)

3. 2112 (I can't bear to keep the title track out of the top three)

4. Clockwork Angels (incredible, truly mind blowing, especially when paired with the book. Truly latches on to the modern prog/metal/rock sound)

5. Power Windows (where the synths are every bit as powerful as guitars, yet both are noticeable)

6. Hemispheres (astonishing technical feats, as always, yet much seems to blend together here. A smidge too samey on first listen)

7. Grace Under Pressure (a few incredible songs, matched with a few more or less average rush songs, just a bit too slow and dark all around, but still great)

8. Rush (YOOOOW! (Insert rock and roll scream here, ad helium) rockin', but little match for the rest of Rush's catalogue)

Update again!

1. AFTK

2. PeW

2.5. MP

2.75. Signals

3. 2112

4. CA

5. PoW

6. Hemispheres

7. GuP

8. HYF

9. RUSH

Actually, much of this might be subject to change pretty soon. I need to go through all of them again and reevaluate my feeling on a few of them, like Signals, PeW, GuP, and maybe Hemispheres and Rush

I don't think it's possible for me to choose my favourite. There's so many good ones. I love their most recent albums - CA and Snakes and Arrows - but I also love Moving pictures, signals and permanent waves so it's really impossible to choose.

Constant battle between Hold Your Fire and A Farewell To Kings (and Moving Pictures...and Power Windows...)...

Hold Your Fire (currently!).

1. Hemispheres ()

2. Moving Pictures (The better album... but just not as much magic)

3. A Farewell To Kings (XANADU!!!! Also Cyg and Cinderella Man, and the rest is great as well)

4. Grace Under Pressure (IMO not a weak track on here, with great blend of synth with the rest of the music)

5. Vapor Trails Remixed (Very diverse yet still compelling, only one clunker at the very end)

5. Power Windows (80's near-perfection; only one weak spot in ED)

7. Clockwork Angels (Not as much melody as their other albums, but f*cking great playing and quite a few classics with only 2 clunkers out of 12)

8. Signals (I don't like this one as much as I should... Probably something to do with Chemistry or somesuch)

9. Permanent Waves (Natural Science and Freewill stand out, while the others are all very good)

10. Hold Your Fire (8 songs of 80's perfection... until it takes a nosedive off a cliff with the last two :()

This poll has to be updated. It stops at Feedback.

It could have stopped way before that as far as I'm concerned.... :)
