Played much better today! :ebert: My tee shots were rather erratic, but I hit my fairway irons really well for once! Had several penalty strokes because of my bad driving, so my score card still wasn't too pretty. I did have consistently good chip shots and some really good putts.

Looking forward to next week, so I can put it all together and have a score card to brag about!! :)

I went out today for the first time to a nice simple Par 3 course. Should of been a good day out, but I shot a 102. Or +58. GO ME,

You could probably drop eight srokes to a +50 by using just your putter.

Putting is the worst part of my game. If all I did was putt I'd hit 400.

I played on vacation a few weeks ago with my son. Except for the first hole, I had my best day driving I can remember. Of course, because I don't know how it happened, it's doubtful I could replicate it.

it's one or the other with me. One day i'll be on with the driver, straight and long but suck with my irons. The next round i'll stick my irons but can't drive worth crap. When i figure it out i will break 80.

Speaking of sticking irons, I was throwing darts on Sunday. My daughter and I took on a friend of hers and the girl's father. We played a two-man scramble and beat them by 14 strokes in stroke play. I was keeping a match play score and we were up 4 at the turn, then went on to win every hole on the back. My daughter can bomb it 230+, and from the ladies tees we had a nice advantage. Just missed a couple of eagles.

Fun day!

Careful, goose. If you keep playing like that, you'll be disqualified from this Hacker thread..... ;) ;)

That's awesome. If I figure it out I will break 99.

I'm currently on the DL. Got out twice this year, round 1 was terrible, round 2 was much better, but still not up to what I usually shoot. Then I get tendonitis due to all the yard work and stuff I have been doing.

I've been battling tendonitis in my hands for months (work-related), but thankfully, it hasn't affected my golf game. As long as I can grip the clubs, I'm going out there hackin' away! :ebert:

My investment in TaylorMade clubs is now complete. When my irons and putter arrive in a few days, I will have a full set in my bag.

Jet Speed Driver, 3-Wood, 5-Wood

Rocket Bladez 4 thru 9 irons, PW, AW

White Smoke putter

I can't wait to get out there and play mediocre golf in STYLE!!

Haven't played in a while, and went out with some pals.

Nine three putts. :dweez: 44 putts in all.

Managed an 89 somehow.

I would kill for an 89....... :laughing guy: I haven't recorded a decent round of golf yet, and I've been out about 10 times. I hit the ball really well at the range, but when I get on the course, most of the fundamentals disappear. I lack focus. Some good shots here and there, but they're always followed by disaster holes to ruin my score.

Such is the life of an untrained hacker.....

Went out on the local executive course - par 32 - and started out very well. Bogey, par, par......had several good chips, some tap-in putts, and one very good 25-foot putt for par. Still had a disaster hole (8) and a dud last hole (7). 15 total putts, though, which is very good for me. Still ended up with a 46.........but I was pretty happy with a lot of my shots.

The Good: Playing the Chip & Run; putting :D

The Bad: A couple penalty strokes and lost balls.... :tsk:

The Ugly: Slicing off the tee....

Shot a birdie-less 79 today. Did well off the tee and from the fairway.

My 9 year old grandson had his first private lesson Friday with a PGA professional. So far he loves what he is learning.

If you can afford it, it's good to get lessons from a pro so that proper techniques can be developed right out of the gate.

I love the wide open layout of this particular course. Some call it "Ego Valley" because you can spray it and still post a decent score. Personally, I think too many modern courses make the layouts unplayable for the average golfer. Punishing layouts make for long, miserable rounds.

I splurged for a few golf lessons this spring with a PGA pro. There has been improvement in my game. :ebert: I'm happy. My game still sucks, but not quite as much as before. I'm going to keep at it! When you see some positive results, you don't want to throw the clubs in the river..
