umoveme
I think it's also important to mention that very few people, when they sit for a meal actually eat a serving size of meat. A deck of cards is pretty small. If you're eating all of your fruits and veggies and drinking enough water, you really don't need much meat.
troutman
I don't think I could ever go all out vegetarian, Love my steak, burgers ect. But I do take a few days off at times and leave it out of my diet. I love stir-fry veggies with some tofu thrown in!!
LittleRushmonkey
I'm basically a vegetarian. I eat fish (mainly tuna) at times but that's about it.I hate the idea of harming animals and that's why I'm a vegetarian but I still eat fish at times. I've heard this from other people and I'm curious—if you hate the idea of harming animals, why do you eat fish? After all, they're animals. Mara
Just curious - is the word "vegetable" no longer in the OED? I only ask because "veggies" makes me grind my teeth a little (it's baby talk, IMO), and at this rate I may end up toothless because even respected chefs and publications like Epicurious seem to default to it. I'll try to quit, though, if in fact "vegetable" has been deemed archaic. "Veg", common in the UK, is acceptable. It doesn't make someone sound as if they're speaking to an audience of four-year-olds. Edited May 24, 2014 by Mara

I think too many people hate having to pronounce the word properly, so they just say "veggies"..... /vehj-da-bulls/ /veh-jeh-ta-bulls/ :sarcastic: /veh-jees/ :ebert: :ebert:

It's even easier to say and you get to still sound like an adult!Last week we were out to dinner and the waitress asked me what veggie I wanted as my side. I told her none, thanks, but the asparagus would be fine. In order to avoid to come off sounding like the biggest tool she'd see all evening, I then said, "sorry, it's me, I just HATE that word "veggie".
