Hi all :hi:

I thought I'd make use of this new sub-forum to share some stuff.

Firstly, I've posted this before, and I've had a link to it in my profile, but for those of you who haven't checked it out, please do...

Nutcasey

An instrumental piece recorded on my home 12 track. Everything is me, including programmed drums. It's basically me attempting a kind of Steve Vai style extravaganza. Enjoy

Next up, I haven't posted this before, because I've only just heard it myself. My band's cover of Maiden classic Hallowed Be Thy Name.

The recording isn't perfect. Just a couple of mics set up in the practice room, but you get the idea. There's a few fluffs, and the solo isn't my best, but remember, I'm only one guitarist, not the two or three that Maiden has.

Thank you for taking the time. Hope you enjoy

Listened to Hallowed (and will check out the other tune in a bit)--great job bro! I like that song a lot, and you guys definitely did it justice. I was nodding along as I listened. :D

Just listened to the instrumental. You're really good, man. Both the chugging heavy parts and the lead lines are awesome.

:) Thanks Cyclonus

So, thanks for covering one of my fave Maiden tunes bud, that was good and you got away with that solo fine ;) Really liked the clean tone for Liquid Light at the start, very similar to what I would use for many a noodle. I look forward to when you show us La Villa next, go on, you know you want to :ebert:

Cheers Steevo. Yeah, I'm quite proud of Liquid Light and the way it builds up. La Villa? wow, that would be something. :D

I was actually planning on recording an instrumental cover of Zeps The Rain Song, because that's one of my favourite pieces to play on the guitar.

 aw thanks Narps. And the feeling's mutual

Nutcasey... :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

:haz: :7up: :ebert:

Fantastic!

 Yeah, it's a little crazy. The title comes from my brother, who described it as being "Nutcasey enough to be Steve Vai"

Superb! ... thanks for sharing!

:ebert: and thanks for taking the time to listen

So, I had a go at The Rain Song yesterday, just for a bit of fun.

Just brilliant man. With closed eyes I can hear Plant in my head, joining you during the first minutes of the song. Great playing there. Gonna get me some Liquid Light now. :notworthy:

Bravo!! You playing this on the SG bud? It's really interesting to compare how others interpret. Nice playing man, good stuff! :)

Most of my instrumental pieces are played on my Fender Telecaster, actually. It's got the most comfortable neck of any guitar I've ever played, and it's got a third pickup which gives a really nice clean tone.

Glad you liked it. :)

Bro, what are you using for recording?

Very nice job with The Rain Song, but man I'm not a huge fan of all that twang in your tone, but that's just me. Keep at it

Nutcasey!

Does your band have a bandcamp? And you're not pairing yourself with musicians who are dragging you down, are you? ;)

Well, none of them are into prog...does that count as dragging me down?
