Rush Plotting 41st Anniversary Tour for 2015

They've never been to my city. Maybe they will this time. We have a beautiful arena with ten thousand empty seats waiting to be filled in the event that they swing by me.

I drove 10 hours one way to go to one of the shows I attended for this last tour. Never thought I'd drive that far just to go to a concert. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Not everyone has the money to do that as much as we would love to.

lol, I know man. I was lucky enough to go from north georgia to nashville to see the boys (hell, I was lucky enough to go to atlanta even. that's still 90 miles from me). I have no idea how some folks can afford to see 10-15 shows per tour.

Yeah, but alex isn't going to pick to many crazy songs, for all we know he could be talking about newer unplayed songs. We know the obvious ones, the spirit of radio, and Tom Sawyer and limelight and 2112, the ones they always play. Where's are favorite setlist maker when you need him?? WHERE'S LOSINGIT2K???

Considering the Flowing: (What Alex stated about rare tracks, The Re-Release of Vapor Trails and the Debut Album "RUSH", The Rumor by Eddie Trunk, they are Recording New Stuff, The Success of CA and 2015 being the 35th anniversary of PeW) Here is my Wish/ Prediction Setlist):

41st Anniversary Tour:

Set 1:

R41 Medley (Finding My Way, In the Mood, What Your Doing, Working Man) (Rare)

Limelight

Caravan

New Rush Song (Never Played)

Medley: By Tor & The Snow Dog-The Necromancer-By Tor (Reprise) Rare

Cut to the Chase / Alt. Alien Shore (Never Played Live)

Vapor Trails / Alt. Ceiling Unlimited w/ Solo (Never Played Live)

Open Secrets / Alt. Chain Lightning (Never Played)

Limbo - (Drum Solo #1)

Show Don't Tell

Clockwork Angels

Set 2:

The Spirit of Radio

Freewill

Jacobs Ladder (Rare)

Entre Nous (Rare)

Alex Acoustic Solo - Different Strings w/ Extended Gtr Solo (Never Played)

Natural Science (Rare)

New RUSH song # 2 (Never Played)

New World Man

The Anarchist

YYZ -(Drum Solo #2)

Hemispheres (Prelude) Rare

Xanadu (Entire) (Rare)

2112 (O/T/F)

Encore:

Far Cry

Tom Sawyer

Headlong Flight

2nd Encore:

Closer to the Heart (Extended)

I placed in two new RUSH songs cause I think they will release two new tracks sometime Early 2015 Prior to tour.

:rush: :haz: :rush:

I would kill a man for that setlist.

Taken together with Trunk's statement, we could get a couple new songs next spring, a tour, and a new album in 2016 with another tour.

Thats exactly what I figured. I can't understand Treeduck's Logic on that one. At worst it might push the new album to early 2017. But just the fact they are going on tour in 2015 give more credence to the notion they are recording new Stuff. They Like Touring on new Material. I think they'll go the way of CA and release two new tracks in Spring of 2015 like you stated and then finish the album off for 2016. Regardless, RUSH is back!

This announcement totally proves that Eddie Trunk has no idea what he's talking about. :sarcastic:

Planning a tour is way different than writing and recording an album. Maybe we'll get some new songs before the tour and maybe we won't. I'm leaning more towards no new songs, just going by previous statements from the guys about wanting to take time off.

Now, on a more positive note, I guess I better start saving money now since they rarely come to Idaho and I will have to travel if I want to see them at all.

RC10 Why would you think that? I think this tour is what sparked the idea of recording more stuff. They like touring on new material. If anything it gives more credence to the rumor they are currently recording. I think they liked what they did with The Time Machine Tour and would like to have a few new tracks to tour with for the 41st Anniversary!

Anyway save your $$$.

I'm just glad they're planning another round. Was afraid this break would turn into a several-year waiting game. Good thing I've been setting aside money here and there since the CA tour ended. Really interested to see what they come up with as far as setlist ideas....although whatever they pick there will be complaints. I'm perfectly fine with whatever. As long as its Rush, its alright with me.

Oh God....please no Feedback 2. That would be a nightmare. Good news for a Tour (like it was really unexpected?), but with this news I fear we may have already seen the last Rush studio record. After seeing the band about 30 times or so, I would take new material over a Tour anyday.

Alex has been saying a year. That's August 2014. That would give them time to cut a couple of new songs and do the tour after releasing them. Their working idea prior to CA was an instrumental album release with a couple new ones. That could be the plan again...or not.

I would be surprised by a tour with no new material. They seem to have a philosophical problem with that.

Oh my ged! Oh my ged!! I am so happy right now!! I am sooo gonna see them again!!! :D

I hope they play songs from Vapor Trails and Counterparts!

Your signature pics are way too big. My computer won't even hardly load because of it. Isn't there a limit on the size?

They have plenty of time to do a FULL record. Don't see the problem. If they release just two songs at this stage in the game they may never finish the record.

They surely have the time. I question whether they have the desire to spend that much time on it. I doubt it.

"We want to try and play different material this time," Lifeson says. "I've always wanted to do some rarer Rush material, and this should be a good opportunity to do that. I also think it's going to be a long tour. We just need to stay healthy until then."

Just when I was about to retire from the band..

Imo, they finally realize their newer material really isn't taking them anywhere.

They rarely come within 250 miles of me. In the 20+ years I've been a fan I've seen them in my home state twice (and still driving 120-150 miles one way). Closest for me is typically Salt Lake (about a 4 hour drive one way). So, travel is ALWAYS part of the concert plans when it comes to Rush. That's what makes it so expensive. But, the point of a journey is not to arrive, right? I've met some amazing people while traveling to see Rush. I don't regret it...I'll never forget it.

I just hope that 'rare' Rush tunes aren't:

Red Barchetta, Freewill,(insert various other greatest hits songs that we've all heard a bunch but don't get every tour). Circumstances and Entre Nous were such a treat. I hope we get many along those lines.

Also agree with the 'short' vacation/time off sentiment. Even if they start in March 2015, that will be about 18 months off. In my 20+ years on the job, I've never had 18 days off in a row. Time to get rockin'. It's what they love doing.

Although we generally expected this, it's nice to see something in quotes from one of the band members. Just great news, hopefully the boys will stay well and healthy (us too!) and we can have some magical nights together.
