Ok, I like, never get the "stomach flu" or food poisoning or whatever the Eff is was....

So Friday night, I came down with the horrendous barfs, headache, dry heaves and it lasted about 24 hours.

Has any one had this but then mild to moderate nausea that lasts (off and on) for 4 more days????

Tell me I'm not dying.

I had a stint like that about a year ago. Lasted a little over a week and, just as suddenly as it came, it left.

I know that I have gallbladder issues. But, I am stubborn and don't want to have it removed just yet. That can cause what you are describing as well. About 6-7 years ago I had a gallbladder attack to intense that I collapsed in a parking lot while walking into a store with my family. I was in bed for 4-5 days eating nothing but saltine crackers and vegetable broth.

Do you have any pain anywhere? The gallbladder refers pain up in your neck, in your back or down your left arm. Like a heart attack but not that intense. It's more of a nagging ache than a shooting pain, typically.

I had bad gallbladder attacks and nagging aches in my right side chest for a long time before I finally broke down and had my gallbladder out a year ago. Really glad I did. Surgery was a breeze.

Hmmm.... usually with food poisoning it lasts only as long as it takes your body to get rid of whatever bug you had.

How else do you feel otherwise? Do you still have a lot of energy?

And here I came because I thought you were talking about a different kind of playing doctor. How silly of me

I thought the same but didn't want to be the first dude to show up this time... :)

By the way, if it was food poisoning I would suspect it to go away when puking. Last time I ate something bad I felt like I had a bad case of the flu, but as soon as I threw up I could feel it turn for the better.

So I don't think it's food poisoning.

I feel fine. No aches or pains. Just subtle nausea sometimes. It's better every day. I'm just not 100% yet so I thought I'd ask. My appetite is normal. It's just strange.

The fact that you're feeling a little better each day is a good sign. Whatever bug you had is probably on its way out (no pun intended). Hopefully by this time tomorrow, you're feeling like your old self. If not, maybe a trip to the doctor is necessary. Edited by Janie

I wasn't surprised either. The only surprise is the absence of Sheldon, our resident doctor, with his "in for pics" post.

Have you changed ANYTHING in your diet? New foods, medicines, supplements, etc...?

Ok, I'm so much better, everyone! Thank you. I actually ate a fancy dinner at a banquet that evening. Nobody else got sick though. Maybe someone scratched their ass and rubbed my steak! Who knows. :P

Well that post helped motivate me to get back to being a vegetarian.

Hey, It's just as easy to scratch an asshole and rub a block of cheese or lettuce leaf. ;)

I may have scratched my ass before while rubbing my steak once or twice. I honestly can't remember now.... Anyway, carry on and glad you are feeling better.... :D-13:

Now that you mention it, I guess it would be better if someone did it for me instead..... :D-13:
