I've also never had acrylic nails, and I've only had a professional mani/pedi once in my life (given to me for my birthday one year). I also do not dye my hair. I keep clean and well groomed, I do wear a small amount of make-up and I insist on dressing at least sort-of like I give a damn when I leave the house. I'm just not much for the usual trappings of feminine preening. But, I dislike having body hair below my waist. It's not out of trying to satisfy a man in my life, it's out of comfort for myself. I just can't stand it. I understand what the men are saying about liking a woman to have a little hair down there because otherwise it's too prepubescent. But, again, I do it for my own comfort and not for any other reason.
