What is the nastiest food you have ever ate?

Recommended Posts

My mother's family was Polish, and they came up with two "delicacies" that make the list:

Kiszka (as in "Who Stole the...): Polish blood sausage

Czarnina: A slightly sweet soup with a stock that is thickened with duck's blood. Mom's house was near an outdoor market commonly known as the Old Polish Market" in Detroit where live ducks were sold.

Yuck! Daj mi piwa (Gimme a beer)!

Well, I like perogis!

Me too. When my dad was still alive he and I would make fresh kielbasa from scratch, mostly for Christmas holidays.

I would think every ethnicity has one man's delicacy that's another man's gross out.

I'm Polish. My grandmother made the most fantastically amazing dishes. You put fresh cabbage, sauerkraut, or, basically anything deliciously sour and pickled in front of me and I'm one happy eater. My favorite fruit is rhubarb which is probably every other persons nightmare!

I have been craving my grandma's Polish feasts something BAD lately. She used to cook so much food the table would be filled.

Every delicious Polish dish you could ever want and more.....mmmmmm......she was the best cook!!! lol

my mother in law recently bought sauerkraut and I squealed hahaha. I almost stole it :P

Cabbage, you say? MMM, GALUMPKI!!!!

Not the nastiest, but I just got a Cobb salad with black olives. Olives rank high on my suck factor, and I have never seen them in a Cobb salad. It's EAT COBB... no room for an extra O, although I understand it is not uncommon.

Egg

Avocado

Tomato

Chicken

Onion (or chives)

Bacon

Blue Cheese

kreplach, sauerkraut pierogi, bigos, kapusta... bring it! Polish food is the best comfort food, imo.

I think I always have sauerkraut in the fridge. Sauerkraut and mustard. Yum. Seriously. Yum.

I had Brussel Sprouts for Dinner tonight and fried them instead of boiling them. They are still horrible.

Could probably deep-fry those hellish things in napalm and they'd still be gut-wrenchingly awful..!

I once had some alligator meat that probably wasn't very fresh. The restaurant closed soon afterwards.

I've always wanted to try alligator. I've heard it's really good. Got to go down to the bayou and get me some gator on a stick.

I've said before that I'm not a picky eater but do not, ever, under any circumstances put beets in front of me. I don't like them. I don't like them fresh. I don't like them canned. I don't want them in a salad. Sam I am.

Gator is delicious.

walmart brand breakfast sandwiches- the biscuits. The croissants are good so it surprised me.

The biscuits smell like wet dog when they microwave and taste like wet dog and dirt when ya eat them =/
