I don't think I'd ever really want to meet Rush

I had the chance at one click away, a couple of meet and greet tickets (about 2 thou a piece) and then I thought: cheese! I do love them, I do die to shake their hand, but F*ck, I am not crazy, not stupid enough to throw away 4 grand just for that!

I had the same feeling at 1k a pass. I waste money like water with Rush, but that's too much water.

Having met Alex and Geddy already, I would be happy to meet them again, especially Geddy, because the interaction with him might have been memorable to him. That said, it was a much more relaxed situation back then than the meet and greets they have now, so I probably would rather run into them somewhere unexpectedly than be herded through with a line of people.

Now you can't just type that kind of thing, and then not elaborate! :P

So I suspect that if I had a chance to say hello, and reminded him, he might be able to recall at least that part of it. Really, I'd love to update him about everything that went down with my music career since then

I'm sure he can't wait to hear it. What a treat that would be for him. :sarcastic:

Selective blindness much? I did say that it's possible he wouldn't remember any of this. And I never assumed that he'd love to hear about it, just said that I'd love the chance to give him the follow up, especially since the complete story is really twisted. He has said in interviews that hearing about how he has inspired other musicians is one of the things he likes about meeting fans, so I hope that he'd be happy to know that I was able to achieve some little success from the whole ordeal, even if I'm not rich or famous as a result.

Yeah, I'm so sure. I hear he also loves D&D. Especially the trolls. :sarcastic:

No worries. I realized the second time you were just f-ing with me, which is why I didn't go into another long-winded defensive explanation.

Allow me my fantasies—anything is possible there. Why, just a minute ago I found cures for all diseases (even the ones we haven't discovered yet), brokered permanent world peace, became the greatest songwriter and greatest virtuoso on every instrument ever invented (including the kazoo and the broomstick with a rubber band stretched along it), I discovered the secret to eternal youth, the key to perpetual motion, found an inexhaustible source of clean energy more powerful than nuclear energy....all without moving a single muscle. And then Rush called begging me to let them come over and "just bask in your supreme greatness!!!" I had to turn them down. They're too embarrassing. I rule.

Well at least they know who I am. That's awesome. It's so cool that you know them! :P

i partly agree with you on some points as well. I know geddy and alex are the 'outgoing' of the bunch, but i've seen some footage of them eating at a restaurant and the waitress has'em sign some papers for her sons - and they looked annoyed. so if i ever see them in person, i would just try to make eye contact and give them my devil-horns with my hand....however neil....i'm not f***ing with him! =P
