  1. Past hour
  2. Still on a high from seeing Pornos two weeks ago. Too bad this was their farewell tour ( ha, I've heard that before ) Great album and great track off this album.
  3. I generally agree with these sentiments. I really like Dynasty. A lot of strong material indeed. Yeah it is certainly a lot more in the AOR genre but a lot of Kiss’s later stuff evolved to that in that 3 album run. Unmasked.....I finally after 40 year revisited this album.....and yeah there are some very catchy songs on here. It’s not a great Kiss album by any means.....but it has some high quality hooks and is a clear departure from the first 6 albums. Music from The Elder also has some solid to good redeeming qualities. They tried.....they really tried a true concept album and from everything I read were also going to make a movie to accompany the album. Well that fizzled LOL. This was a a huge transition period for the band. I mean they clearly lost their way in terms of what their hardcore fan base wanted.....but dare I say they actually tried to be a “progressive pop rock band” on that 3 album run? Yeah you can say that. For the record here are my personal rankings of the Kiss albums from the Make-up era and let’s be real the best era of Kiss. 1. Kiss Alive 2. Kiss Alive II Those two albums are simply the best......they are a live band (they have never been a studio band) and yes they did plenty of studio clean up and it sounds like some canned crowd screaming.......but shit...these are the best albums that when I want Kiss.....these are the 2 go to albums. So here are the Studio rankings 1. Destroyer 2. Rock n Roll All Over 3. Love Gun 4. Dynasty 5. Dressed To Kill 6. Kiss 7. Creatures of the Night 8. Hotter Than Hell 9. Music From The Elder 10. Unmasked I could throw in th solo albums of 1978......Paul Stanley was my fave and would slot right in after Kiss self titled and then Ace’s record right after it. I could care less about Gene’s and Peter’s.
  4. I fully went into my R40 show expecting this to be the very final show I'll ever see from them. I was seeing my favorite band go out on top. I even bought Neil's R40 travel book, Far and Wide and went to see Geddy & Alex do an interview/signing at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, but that more just felt like an epilogue. Following Neil's death, that stung quite a bit especially with the 1-2 punch of COVID and a crisis in my personal life almost immediately after. His death caused me to return to their music after a bit of a hiatus and made me appreciate his words and his talent behind the kit even more. Geddy's book just feels like an additional epilogue to a book i closed long ago. It's a great read and I'm grateful that he released such a detailed retelling of his life and time in the band, even if he could have given us another 200 pages. It gave me a better understanding of how much he and the others truly busted their asses to make it and the sacrifices that came with his level of fame. And again, after not listening to Rush for a long while, I burned through the entire discography (studio and live) as I read through the book. This band remains my absolute favorite even if my listening wanes every now and then. It just hits harder when I return to it after a long time away.
  5. What was the zoning sin that caused this?
  6. Today

BastillePark, you have assumed control.... ...of The Rush Forum's Solar Federalist badge no. 394...Congratulations! Also, your badge has been added to the Hallowed Hall, and below is a mini-badge that you can add to your sig, if you wish. Congrats!
  8. Kill the headlights, then put it in neutral
  9. Highways are not expected to pull a direct profit Expecting transit to pull a direct profit is a mental illness
  10. If you love roads, don't go bitching about road taxes. Any given road you're driving on isn't taxing you hard enough to use it to pay for itself. You're getting subsidized every step of the way.
  11. There's no such thing as "free parking", there's just parking with the cost baked into the price of what you're there for. And a steep cost it is! If anyone loves free parking everywhere they go, I 100% don't want to hear them bitch about the reasonable concept of public transit not charging at the point of consumption.
  12. In case it wasn't obvious, the above was an example of horrendous zoning and design practices. It's as if someone hated the concept of walking with the utmost passion, and was trying to maximize arbitrary miles driven. Hopefully each restaurant has a valet while they're at it. If I assembled a team of random mentally challenged individuals and gave them total freedom to design an area without regulation, I'm confident they'd come up with something better.
  13. It was the final album of the Trevor Rabin era from 1994.
  14. They can comprehend it just fine.
  15. Prior to getting the same email it appears you got I'd never heard of that album but I'll be listening to it later.
