  1. As I say... I won't really be trying to seduce Geddy, but if he ever tried to seduce me... http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Underground/6756/geddy4.jpg Eh?
  2. QUOTE (dweezil @ Mar 11 2005, 06:46 PM) QUOTE (JoDay @ Mar 11 2005, 08:42 AM) It's so hard to find good shoes isn't it? Geddy Lee, from the Presto tourbook Geddy knows!! Yep, the man's got amazing taste. I kinda wish he start his own line of clothes. Why is it the mainstream crowd can wear their JLo designed stuff? Are we worse?
  3. QUOTE (purkitty33 @ Mar 11 2005, 01:23 AM) I go out to a club here in Houston, and everytime I go on Saturday nights there is a gentleman that looks just like Geddy back in the day. I laugh evertime i see him and tell my husband, "look its Geddy". I finally got the nerve to go up to him and tell him who i thought he looked like, and we both just laughed. Now i have a friend that looks like Geddy, since I will probably never meet the real one. LOL Does he do the other things like Ged as well? I mean music!
  4. QUOTE (dweezil @ Mar 8 2005, 01:18 AM) I worked in a male dominated industry for years and the job was 7 days a week. Also my personal situation didn't allow for any friends. So, you'll have to forgive me if I don't know how to "girl talk" well, but I do have a thing for shoes/boots. Doc Martens is my fav, and even though I love some pointy girl things I don't know how to wear high heels--I fall over. Oooh, I understand u. I'm studying at BMSTU, Moscow State Tech, so granted the majority of the students is male, and the girls who happen to study with me have no sense of style! I don't care for fashion, I care for style... my style's known to drive my Mom crazy but... I understand u fully about falling over!! I wear all kinds of hilarious platform shoes tho. This winter I have a nice pair of Rovers which look really original given that I wear a pretty and nice khaki 'artificial suede suit' - a tight jacket and a long skirt, something people expect to lead to high heels... but no... plus I wear these 'damned studded wristbands' of the metalhead/S&M type... (picture that) and it's not summer yet, when I go into full throttle... one crazy Elf here... Every now and then I get cool items (Carnaby and Strange happen to yield most of them), but not as frequently as I'd like. Few really interesting things here. I should have been born in the 60s as far as fashion goes to grow up during the 70s. Or 80s. Those times were cool (especially if we remember how guys used to look). I don't know a single guy now who has any taste in clothing! Don't know married guys of this type as well. They are the victims of fashion, not us girls!!

  6. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Feb 12 2005, 07:26 AM) QUOTE (JoDay @ Feb 11 2005, 11:31 AM) Speaking about elves and getting on the verge of being absolutely disconnected with reality... I wonder if Geddy's not an elf. Cuz he definitely appears to have been one. He's too talented to be human, after all. Yes, he does have an otherworldly look and 'feel' to him doesn't he.... An otherworldy look like this? http://enthralled.front.ru/Geddy01.jpg
  7. QUOTE (LakesideMaiden @ Feb 8 2005, 07:23 AM) Hey! Me too...I'm being completely serious about that too I've been an elf, like, the last 3 years for Samhain (Halloween ) Speaking about elves and getting on the verge of being absolutely disconnected with reality... I wonder if Geddy's not an elf. Cuz he definitely appears to have been one. He's too talented to be human, after all.
  8. QUOTE (Spike @ Jan 24 2005, 08:25 PM) QUOTE (JoDay @ Jan 24 2005, 06:54 AM)QUOTE (Sodoff Baldrick @ Jan 14 2005, 05:20 PM) The Fly by Night album did it for me. One listen and swooooooooon. Thanks everyone for the welcome messages Most of you are sufficiently older than me, eh? And got into this all while probable being even younger than I was... And my Granny keeps telling me I will 'grow out of it'. Tell Granny that she's never too old to grow INTO it! Heck - she could aim for being the oldest Rush chick ever! Oh I still hope it will work some day! )) I'm not telling her Geddy's real last name. Girls, it's so sad but some people are prejudiced against anyone whose name even merely sounds Jewish. And when I know it does not only sound this way... Well I don't care about nationalities and whatever, I'm a gypsy myself and have some Jewish blood as well. How can I be prejudiced?.. I also believe I used to be an elf in one of the past lives, so it's serious in my case, believe me ) But still Granny goes on asking me the names of those 'strange women' I listen to. You know, she only can tell it's a man singing when that man has a low voice like that of Shalyapin's. You know Shalyapin? He was a famous Russian opera singer. My Granny is an opera freak. Well Shalyapin's voice may be basso profundo, but Geddy has a relationship with basses as well I'll try to get her into my kinda music from this point of view!

  10. Well judging by press and whatever, I'd say Presto is the most underrated... it somehow happens it's one of my faves... Counterparts is rated quite fairly, I think. I love it and haven't really read anything bad about it. Generally Russian press says Rush lost it after PoW... well I don't agree. An article in a Rock Encyclopedia puslished by a local influential magazine Rovesnik says T4E is a total disaster... I don't agree again, though it does not move me as much as CP or Presto, or PeW... I guess I cannot be unbiased since I'm a a fan, - I don't think there's a single bad song written by the guys. But Presto is definitely overlooked. Maybe I love it because of the lyrics primarily - I don't know.
  11. Hi all... I knew I'm not, ahem, alone in this world But girls... doesn't anyone here have an aural link to the trigger of excitement? What I mean (and I may be quite clumsy with words tonite, for it's not quite easy to express what you mean when you've almost failed an exam 2day) is that surely Geddy looks out of this world, but what really turned me on when I heard Rush for the first time was his voice (the song was 'Roll the Bones' and I knew immediately I'm in; well this love took several years to really develop - I guess it has to do w/the change of my personality - I must have been growing up). Anyway glad to be here
