  1. The show was fantastic. 5th show for me. I was on the floor. I happened to notice a few things tonight. 1.) saw an older gentleman, probably 50's maybe 60's very well dressed, businessman type. He was straight up getting down to some Rush. Like, almost down on his knees jamming out. 2.) Noticed a rather sexy younger woman dancing to Where's My Thing like it was pole dance song. Hilarious, and I had the weirdest boner. Jk. 3.) Although I will yell and shout for nearly anything Rush plays, I could sense a bit of restlessness from the crowd around song 5 of CA material. It might have just been the section I was in, but People seemed to be "running errands" left and right during the wreckers. I understand it's not a hit, but come on people, you paid all this money, I wouldn't want to miss a second of Rush on stage. 4.) Neil was tossing and catching sticks like it was going out of style. (it never gets old.) 5.) Alex's solo on analog kid gave me chills. Best moment of the show by far. 6.) Strings were a very nice touch to the CA material. In fact, I don't think those songs would've sounded nearly as strong live without them. Overall had a blast. Can't wait until the next tour, although hopefully it won't be at the United Center. The acoustics of that place are terrible. Especially with all the intricacies of Rush's music.
  2. This is epic. I think anyone with photoshop skills should join in on this thread. I was thinking of doing the same thing! awesome thread. Great work
  3. I couldn't agree more! It's one of the few rush songs that has lyrics that actually speak to me. I like the "let the demons dwell" line. and the song has a great feel to it.
  4. It obviously has to do with mixing and mastering techniques. The technology today, is still (easily) able to create the sound of Permanent Waves. IT all comes down to who is the crew/engineer/producer. The playing is top notch. I wish that CA had the clarity of freewill. Even if it didn't end up sounding as "big" or "epic" which I think is what a lot mastering techniques these days aim for, which sadly, is missing a large part of what makes rush so great in the first place.
  5. It's something I noticed right away first time I heard the song as well. I don't think I remember Neil doing anything like that before. It's definitely a "Here we go guys" thing. Like he's so excited to get playing he's clicking himself in. Gotta love the excitement and finesse of Neil on the new album.
  6. When comparing it to other rush albums, the only thing that I can detect is an almost unnecessary background ambience. Like there's too much overall reverb on the whole mix. It makes neils drums sound too far away, (comparing to hemispheres era) where everything was very crisp. and it shortchanges some of his great fills. I think part of the problem is the current styles of modern music mixing. it's just what's "in" HUGE BASSY DEEP ROCK. not like it used to be.
  7. I took these with a kodak. Also, I did click the IMG link. it gave me an error so I posted the urls.
  8. What if the band just played two or three songs from each album? From start to finish? seems like a good way to touch on everything.
  9. They are nipping it, because the song repeats the same part like 5 times with nothing new. and Lerxst has ADD and cant handle it.
  10. What I don't understand, is why they slow the tempos down live. I understand changing the key, because of Ged's inability to still sing at those levels, but the bands chops are top notch for crying out loud. Natural science was so slow last tour I was cringing.
  11. I managed to snag 4th row in Chicago for $225. Just keep looking, you may find something. I found mine on Ebay. It's ridiculous though, because some people were selling basically the same seats just the other side of the stage for $ 1,000 more.
  12. I love all these old Rush stories from the older fans. Makes me wish that I grew up in the 70's and 80's Im only 20. It also sucks to think that by time the year 2112 actually rolls around that all of us crazy Rush fans, including Rush themselves will be long gone. Almost crazy to think that this amazing thing called Rush will one day be just a memory. Atleast the music will outlast us all.

    Juno

I'm sure I'm alone on this but, I went into the theater thinking I was really going to enjoy Juno. It looked funny from the previews and I thought I would enjoy it. I also like Michael Cera from Superbad. Only thing was, and I was the only one who thought this out of the group; I couldn't stand Juno's character. I mean it drove me up the wall. Half the time I wanted to reach through the screen and smack the piss out her. There was just something that didn't set with me, I know she was supposed to be witty, and sarcastic. But she was a little too witty to be realistic I think. ohwell, the plot was still good. It was kind of creepy when the father that was going to adopt her baby started coming on to Juno. Although I called that one a mile away!
