When I really started getting into them in fall 2003. My first visit to my dad on the Northeast coast was at that time. I picked up Hemispheres just before I left and loved it so much, I picked up A Farewell To Kings and 2112 before my visit was done. The songs on those CDs make me reflect back to that visit and all the fun things we did while we were there.

  6. Saw King Kong today. It was super.
  7. Scary movies generally are supposed to scare you right? Well a lot of them fail to fulfill that, but I watched "The Shining" for the second time yesterday and it still gives me goosebumps. If any movie is really truly scary, (at least that I've seen so far!) gotta be this one. The first time I saw this, it was Halloween time and it was on TV. It was plenty creepy before coming to this part, but I just can't get over it.... Wendy is running from her husband, up some stairs and she looks over to her right, into a (seemingly) empty room. Something starts to appear but it's hard to make out... then the camera ZOOMS in to show it: some guy and another guy wearing freaky looking bear-dog-man thing costume. It was so random and bizarre after the rest of the movie, it totally freaked me out and that was the only time I've ever actually screamed out loud at a movie. Ooh what incredibly fantastic frightful imagery comes out of King and Kubrick... http://www.coldbacon.com/pics/shining-bear.jpg ....and for those who have seen it.... is it just me or.... was that thing giving the other guy a little.... pleasure?

Sampling really bugs me. All the young peeps think that these pop artists came up with the tune themselves when in reality, most of their "songs" are created using sampling. Okay, I'm off subject a bit here, but sampling bugs me. I agree 100% Same thing goes with cover songs. If an artist is going to cover another artist, they need to make it perfectly clear that they are not the ones who wrote the song. I cant tell you how many little people I've met who think No Doubt wrote "Its My Life" or *cringes* think Limp Bizkit wrote "Behind Blue Eyes". YES!!! "Behind Blue Eyes"...Geez you don't understand how many people think Limp Bizkit wrote it!!! UGHHH Or that American Woman was by Lenny Kravitz. I knew Kravitz didn't write that song but a lot of people I know didn't. Everyone was talking about it at the time....
  15. I thought Dukes of Hazzard was pretty cool.
