  1. Squire/White are only just edged out by Lee/Peart as my favourite rhythm sections ever. Fantastic musicians who blend so well together to create music that touches me like no other. Chris Squire will leave a massive hole in music, as nobody else could, or be allowed to, make music like he and the other members of Yes did. R.I.P to an amazing man.
  2. I remember seeing a Zildjian Neil Peart ad in Modern Drummer magazine about 1980. Seeing as though i'd just started playing drums (15 yrs old) i was fascinated by his intricate setup, so i tracked down the first album of theirs i could find, which happened to be Exit...StageLeft. The rest, as they say, is history :syrinx:
  3. gonna go with YYZ.80. Thoughts ?
  4. I love both tracks .... simply awesome to hear the guys have regained that 'edge' Hanging out for the album soooo badly
  5. QUOTE (yyz2112 @ Apr 20 2010, 03:25 PM) I was watching a repeat of 'Countdown' (classic Aussie popular music show in the 70's and 80's) on TV a while ago and Molly Meldrum was discussing new records, as he always did. He flips over the 'Moving Pictures' LP and says something like 'these guys are gonna be huge' and they would be touring Aus later that year. Never happened They did become huge though! Really ?!? Is this true ??? I would never have thought old Molly would acknowledge a band like Rush, but i'm glad to hear he did A tour down here will never happen i'm afraid to say ... it'd cost them way too much to bring the whole shebang down here I'd be happy for them just to come down here for a holiday ... to see what the country is like. Maybe then they'd reconsider a tour
  6. QUOTE (Shifty @ Dec 31 2009, 09:03 PM) PT - Feb 5. Hey same here mate Let's hope it's a good one
  7. QUOTE (goose @ Aug 29 2009, 05:00 PM) QUOTE (raptorcox @ Jun 28 2009, 06:26 PM) Subdivisions Little bit synth heavy, but Neil shines as usual on this track. Neil shines more than usual on this one. He truly is brilliant here. Absolutely !!!! Some of the best fills i've ever heard at the end of this song
  8. I haven't seen it yet but i'm pretty keen to. The trailers of it look pretty good
  9. I love Elton Johns music ... timeless stuff
  10. Led Zeppelin for me. Pink Floyd don't ad-lib at all in their gigs (i've seen them twice live) they just play stuff off the album note-for-note Now don't get me wrong, i LUV Floyd ... but i reckon LZ would be a better gig to catch
  11. I loved it .... but thought the ending was crap
